Abstract

In the present study, temporal behavior of entanglement between photonic binomial distributions and a two-level atom in a leaky cavity, in equilibrium with the environment at a temperature T, is studied. In this regard, the master equation is solved in the secular approximation for the density matrix, when the initial photonic distribution is binomial, while the atomic states obey the Boltzmann distribution. The atom-photon density matrix so calculated is then used to compute the negativity, as a measure of entanglement. The behavior of atom-photon entanglement is, consequently, determined as a function of time and temperature. To justify the behavior of atom-photon entanglement, moreover, we employ the total density matrix to compute and analyze the time evolution of the initial photonic binomial probability distribution. Our results, along with representative figures reveal that the atomphoton degree of entanglement exhibits oscillations while decaying with time and asymptotically vanishes. It is further demonstrated that an increase in the temperature gives rise to a decrease in the entanglement. The finer characteristics of the temporal behavior of the corresponding probability distribution and, consequently, the atom-photon entanglement is also given and discussed.

Entropies and entanglement for decoherence without energy relaxation in a two-level atom

A.‐S. F. Obada, H. A. Hessian, A-B A Mohamed

In this paper, we investigate the temporal evolution of various measures of degree of entanglement and total correlation of a single-mode light field interacting with a two-level atom. The phase-damped cavity is taken into account. The effects of phase damping on a temporal of partial entropies for the atom and the field, total entropy, the entropy difference and the sum of negative eigenvalues of the partially transposed density matrix as a quantitative entanglement measure for the master equation in the dressed-state approximation are taken into account.

The entanglement properties in the system of two double-level atoms trapped in two coupled cavities

LU Dao-min

We consider a system consisting of two two-level atoms interacting with two coupled cavities via a two-photon hopping. Two atoms are individually trapped in two coupled cavities. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given by solving the Schrodinger equation.Negativity is used to quantify the degree of entanglement.By means of the numerical calculations,we investigate the temporal evolution in the entanglement between atoms and that between atom and cavity.Through comparing the results of different cavity-cavity coupling coefficients, the influence of cavity-cavity coupling coefficient on the entanglement is discussed. The obtained results show that the atom-atom entanglement and atom-cavity entanglement both display the evolution which is from the irregular oscillations to quasi-periodic oscillation with the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient increasing. The average value of atom-atom entanglement and that of atom-cavity entanglement sometimes increase and sometimes decrease. It shows that there is non-linear relationship between atom-atom entanglement and cavity-cavity coupling coefficient,or between atom-cavity entanglement and cavity-cavity coupling coefficient. On the other hand, when the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient is small, the entanglement between atom and cavity exhibits the phenomenon of collapse and recovery.

Chaos and entanglement in atomic systems interacting with photons

Alexander V. Gorokhov

The influence of chaotic behavior of coherent state (CS) parameters on entanglement dynamics in system of two level atoms and photons in cavity is investigated. The initial state of the system is chosen as factorized production of photon and atomic coherent states. To find a solution of the Schrödinger equation, we presented the time-dependent wave function in the form of a wave packet in CS representation. The phase portraits and Poincare sections for classical dynamics of CS were computed, and time dependence of the mean number of photons level populations and atomic entropy were calculated in quantum case. The analysis showed that the chaotic behavior in quantum-optical Dicke model increases the degree of entanglement in the atomic subsystem. At the same time greater entanglement is generated when selecting the initial atomic CS parameters near the center of the corresponding Poincare sections. It is considered dynamics of two identical two-level atoms in non-ideal cavity (nonideal Tavis-Cummings model). Accounting for decay showed that the generation of atomic entanglement is accompanied by the return of the initial separable state (”death” of entanglement), but this behavior with the increase of the initial parameter of the field CS is only at sufficiently small times. Influence of detuning and damping constants are considered.

Entanglement between a Two-level Atom and the Coherent Photonic States in a Nonlinear Cavity

Mohammad Reza Abbasi

In this paper the time evolution of von Neumann entropy as a measure of entanglement between a two-level atom and the photonic coherent states in a cavity is studied. The atom-photon interaction occurs in the presence of a centrosymmetric medium which makes the photonic cavity mode couple with itself via the third order susceptibility. In the present system the atom-photon interaction is assumed to follow the linear Jaynes-Cummings model while the photonic selfcoupling is due to presence of a centrosymmetric medium and occurs via the third order susceptibility. After calculating the time-evolution operator, the von Neumann entropy, as a function of time, is determined. It is shown that an increase of photonic self-coupling leads to decreasing of entanglement. Furthermore, the role of atom-photon detuning on the entanglement behavior is also addressed.

Perspectives for a mixed two-qubit system with binomial quantum states

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty

The problem of the relationship between entanglement and two-qubit systems in which it is embedded is central to the quantum information theory. This paper suggests that the concurrence hierarchy as an entanglement measure provides an alternative view of how to think about this problem. We consider mixed states of two qubits and obtain an exact solution of the time-dependent master equation that describes the evolution of two two-level qubits (or atoms) within a perfect cavity for the case of multiphoton transition. We consider the situation for which the field may start from a binomial state. Employing this solution, the significant features of the entanglement when a second qubit is weakly coupled to the field and becomes entangled with the first qubit, is investigated. We also describe the response of the atomic system as it varies between the Rabi oscillations and the collapse–revival mode and investigate the atomic inversion and the Q -function. We identify and numerically demonstrate the region of parameters where significantly large entanglement can be obtained. Most interestingly, it is shown that features of the entanglement are influenced significantly when the multi-photon process is involved. Finally, we obtain illustrative examples of some novel aspects of this system and show how the off-resonant case can sensitize entanglement to the role of initial state setting.

Entanglement properties between two atoms in the binomial optical field interacting with two entangled atoms

Tang-Kun Liu, Kang-Long Zhang, Yu Tao +2 more

The temporal evolution of the degree of entanglement between two atoms in a system of the binomial optical field interacting with two arbitrary entangled atoms is investigated. The influence of the strength of the dipole–dipole interaction between two atoms, probabilities of the Bernoulli trial, and particle number of the binomial optical field on the temporal evolution of the atomic entanglement are discussed. The result shows that the two atoms are always in the entanglement state. Moreover, if and only if the two atoms are initially in the maximally entangled state, the entanglement evolution is not affected by the parameters, and the degree of entanglement is always kept as 1.
