Abstract

The International Conference on Quantum Information (ICQI), held on the campus of the University of Rochester in June 2001, was the first of a continuing series of meetings intended to provide a forum in which the scope and status of quantum information processing as a whole was defined.

Quantum information is the study of information stored in quantum systems.
