Abstract

We propose a scheme for generating a continuous-variable (CV) quadripartite unlockable bound entangled state from cascaded four-wave mixing processes. Different from the previous method involving a bipartite entangled state and two thermal states, our results show that the CV quadripartite unlockable bound entangled state can be generated via the internal reconfiguration of a four-mode entangled state. Both the nondistillability and superactivation of the generated CV quadripartite unlockable bound entangled state can be demonstrated. We believe that our scheme is experimentally accessible and will contribute to a deeper understanding of CV multipartite unlockable bound entanglement.

We investigate continuous-variable (CV) multipartite unlockable bound entangled states. Comparing with the qubit multipartite unlockable bound entangled states, CV multipartite unlockable bound entangled states present some new and different properties. CV multipartite unlockable bound entangled states may serve as a useful quantum resource for new multiparty communication schemes. The experimental protocol for generating CV unlockable bound entangled states is proposed with a setup that is, at present, accessible.

Genuine Quadripartite Continuous‐Variable Entanglement in Symmetric Cascaded Four‐Wave Mixing Process

Da Zhang, Irfan Ahmed, Changbiao Li +1 more

Abstract The symmetric cascaded four‐wave mixing process is a phase‐insensitive and easy‐to‐implement technology to prepare quadripartite entanglement. However, it has not yet been discussed whether the state generated by this method is genuinely entangled. Here, it is shown that the genuine quadripartite entanglement criteria previously derived are not applicable to the symmetric cascaded scheme. Thus some more effective sufficient conditions are derived for detecting genuine entanglement in this work. The existence of genuine quadripartite entanglement is then confirmed through different entanglement witnesses. Under the premise that the quadripartite state is genuinely entangled, the quantum gain of the first‐stage determines the optimal range of the quantum gain of second‐stage. Finally, it is show that the four output modes are genuinely entangled within the appropriate quantum gain ranges when the optical loss of each step of the cascaded system is less than 10%. The results pave the way for the experimental generation of genuine quadripartite entanglement in symmetric cascaded scheme.

Generation of quadripartite entanglement from cascaded four-wave-mixing processes

Shuchao Lv, Jietai Jing

We show that the scheme of cascaded four-wave-mixing (FWM) processes can be a promising alternative method for generating quadripartite entanglement. This scheme utilizes the strongly entangled twin beams produced by a FWM process as seed beams for another two FWM processes. To present the entanglement properties of this scheme, we verify that the generated state is a $\mathcal{H}$-graph state by using the graphical calculus for Gaussian pure states at first. Then we proceed with investigating the possibility of this scheme for generating quadripartite entanglement by applying the positivity under partial transposition criterion. It is verified that quadripartite entanglement exists for the whole gain region in this scheme. In addition, the possibilities of generating bipartite and tripartite entanglement are studied as well to reveal the entanglement structure. Our results pave the way to experimentally generate quadripartite entanglement based on cascaded FWM processes.

Phase-sensitive cascaded four-wave mixing processes for generating continuous-variable entanglement

Li Wang, Jietai Jing

Quantum entanglement shared by different parties enhances their capabilities to communicate, which is the core content of continuous-variable quantum optics and quantum information science. Here, we study an experimentally feasible scheme for generating quantum entanglement of bipartite and tripartite cases based on phase-sensitive cascaded four-wave mixing processes in rubidium vapor. Quantum entanglement of bipartite and tripartite cases in our system, which can be manipulated by the phases and the intensity gains of the input beams, is predicted. We also find a sufficient optimal single-condition criterion to give a valid description for genuine tripartite quantum entanglement in our system. The sufficient optimal single-condition criterion is convenient and can be extended to genuine multipartite entanglement.

Scheme to generate continuous-variable quadripartite entanglement by intracavity down-conversion cascaded with double sum-frequency generations

H. Y. Leng, Jianfeng Wang, Youbin Yu +5 more

We theoretically show that continuous-variable genuine quadripartite entanglement can be generated by intracavity cascaded nonlinear optical interactions. The process consists of a parametric down-conversion, a sum-frequency generation of pump and signal and a sum-frequency generation of pump and idler. The characteristics of the quadripartite entanglement among the signal, the idler, and two sum-frequency modes are analyzed by applying a sufficient inseparability criterion for multipartite continuous-variable entanglement proposed by Van Loock and Furusawa. The threshold properties of the system are also discussed.

Quadripartite continuous-variable entanglement generation by nondegenerate optical parametric amplification cascaded with a sum-frequency process

Youbin Yu, Huaijun Wang, J. S. Zhao +3 more

Abstract Quadripartite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement with different optical frequencies can be generated by nondegenerate optical parametric amplification cascaded with a sum-frequency process in only one optical superlattice. Firstly, the idler beam is generated by a different frequency process between pump and signal beams. Then, the sum-frequency beam will be generated by a cascaded sum-frequency process between pump and idler beams in the same optical superlattice. The conversion dynamics of the cascaded nonlinear processes is investigated by using a quantum stochastic method. The quantum correlations among pump, signal, idler and sum-frequency beams are calculated by applying a sufficient inseparability criteria for quadripartite CV entanglement. The results show that quadripartite CV entangled beams can be produced by this single-pass cascaded nonlinear process in one optical superlattice.
