Abstract

Numerical integration of the non-stationary Schrödinger equation with Duffing potential depending on two coordinates has been carried out. Oscillation types and the influence of coupling between two oscillators on frequency spectra are analyzed in detail.

QUANTUM QUARTIC OSCILLATORS WITH TWO COUPLED DEGREES OF FREEDOM

A. Sanin, E. A. Semyonov

The numerical integration of the non-stationary two-dimensional Schrodinger equation is carried out. The dynamical properties (dynamical averages, frequency spectra, uncertainty relations, autocorrelators) for two quantum oscillators coupled by the Pallen- Edmonds potential are studied. As a result of the numerical simulations, it was established that the quantum system is sensitive to small changes in Hamiltonian that are caused by the Pallen-Edmonds coupling potential. In the regime of weak coupling high-frequency oscillations are generated, the spectral component number is increased at amplification of coupling.

Numerical solution of the Schrödinger equation for two-dimensional double-well oscillators

Amlan K. Roy, Ajit J. Thakkar, Bimalendu Deb

Wave functions, energies and selected expectation values of the low-lying stationary states of two-dimensional double well potentials are obtained from the long-time solutions of the corresponding time-dependent Schrödinger equation. The latter is transformed to a diffusion-like equation which is then solved by an alternating-direction, implicit, finite-difference method.

Mean Field Approach to Quantum Duffing Oscillator

Sang Pyo Kim

We propose a mean-field approach to the Duffing oscillator to construct perturbatively the bounded operators that generate the quantum states, and to define a non-Gaussian density operator.

Carlos G. Diaz, Francisco Marcelo Fernández, Eduardo Alberto Castro

A finite-difference method for solving the Schrodinger eigenvalue equation is generalised in order to treat a larger number of potentials. Results are shown for asymmetrical two-well oscillators.

QUANTUM OSCILLATOR UNDER EXTERNAL IMPULSE FORCE

A. Sanin, Andrey T. Bagmanov

Abstract. In this contribution dynamics of quantum oscillator under external impulse force is investigated. The oscillator with symmetric polynomial potential in the well of impenetrable walls is considered. The potential consists of quadratic and cubic terms; the cubic term de-pends on modulus of coordinate. Influence of walls and anharmonicity on vibrations is dis-cussed. Properties and peculiarities of resonances have been studied in context of non-stationary Schrödinger’s equation at specified initial conditions. Solutions for the probability density, expectation coordinate as function of time; Fourier’s spectra were analyzed in detail.

Motion, tunneling, and quantum revivals of wave packets into systems with distributed potential and boundary walls

Andrey L. Sanin, A. A. Smirnovsky, Andrey T. Bagmanov

Quantum wave dynamics in systems with potential wells, bathers and outer impenetrable walls has been studied using solutions of time-dependent Schrodinger equation. Numerical integration of Schrodinger equation, calculation of dynamical variables and its average values, Fourier-spectra were carried out for different initial conditions and different relations between wave packet energy and bather height. In non-symmetric wells the oscillations of wave packets are accompanied by multistep discrete tunneling of probability fluid from well through barrier. In double well potential (symmetric wells) the temporal scales of oscillations and tunneling were investigated in details. Influence of additional time-dependent potential on quantum wave packet dynamics in above listed systems is also discussed.
