Quantum image encryption is an emerging technology for efficiently protecting visual information. A quantum block image encryption scheme is designed based on quantum Arnold transform (QArT) and lately proposed sine chaotification model (SCM) in this paper. First, in order to flexibly manipulate image blocks, a quantum block image representation (QBIR) model for block image is proposed, which encodes pixel gray values and position information of image blocks into two entangled qubit sequences. Then, QArT is applied to scramble the positions of image blocks. The final ciphertext image is obtained by quantum XOR operations, which is completed with a pseudorandom sequence generated from SCM. The introduction of SCM dramatically enlarges the key space to resist brute-force attack. Moreover, the generated sequence is dependent on the original image to resist the chosen-plaintext attack. The main quantum circuits are given and the numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed quantum image encryption scheme is valid and reliable for quantum image protection in terms of security and computational complexity.

This paper explores a double quantum images representation (DNEQR) model that allows for simultaneous storage of two digital images in a quantum superposition state. Additionally, a new type of two-dimensional hyperchaotic system based on sine and logistic maps is investigated, offering a wider parameter space and better chaotic behavior compared to the sine and logistic maps. Based on the DNEQR model and the hyperchaotic system, a double quantum images encryption algorithm is proposed. Firstly, two classical plaintext images are transformed into quantum states using the DNEQR model. Then, the proposed hyperchaotic system is employed to iteratively generate pseudo-random sequences. These chaotic sequences are utilized to perform pixel value and position operations on the quantum image, resulting in changes to both pixel values and positions. Finally, the ciphertext image can be obtained by qubit-level diffusion using two XOR operations between the position-permutated image and the pseudo-random sequences. The corresponding quantum circuits are also given. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme ensures the security of the images during transmission, improves the encryption efficiency, and enhances anti-interference and anti-attack capabilities.
Quantum image encryption offers major advantages over its classical counterpart in terms of key space, computational complexity, and so on. A novel double quantum image encryption approach based on quantum Arnold transform (QAT) and qubit random rotation is proposed in this paper, in which QAT is used to scramble pixel positions and the gray information is changed by utilizing random qubit rotation. Actually, the independent random qubit rotation operates once, respectively, in spatial and frequency domains with the help of quantum Fourier transform (QFT). The encryption process accomplishes pixel confusion and diffusion, and finally the noise-like cipher image is obtained. Numerical simulation and theoretical analysis verify that the method is valid and it shows superior performance in security and computational complexity.
The paper proposes a lossless quantum image encryption scheme based on substitution tables (S-box) scrambling, mutation operation and general Arnold transform with keys. First, the key generator builds upon the foundation of SHA-256 hash with plain-image and a random sequence. Its output value is used to yield initial conditions and parameters of the proposed image encryption scheme. Second, the permutation and gray-level encryption architecture is built by discrete Arnold map and quantum chaotic map. Before the permutation of Arnold transform, the pixel value is modified by quantum chaos sequence. In order to get high scrambling and randomness, S-box and mutation operation are exploited in gray-level encryption stage. The combination of linear transformation and nonlinear transformation ensures the complexity of the proposed scheme and avoids harmful periodicity. The simulation shows the cipher-image has a fairly uniform histogram, low correlation coefficients closed to 0, high information entropy closed to 8. The proposed cryptosystem provides 2256 key space and performs fast computational efficiency (speed = 11.920875 Mbit/s). Theoretical analyses and experimental results prove that the proposed scheme has strong resistance to various existing attacks and high level of security.
In the wake of the information security era, ensuring the privacy, accuracy, and reliability of images has become imperative. In this paper, a quantum image encryption method combining quantum Arnold transform and a hyper 5D chaotic system is devised. Furthermore, first, a nonlinear color quantization model (NCQI) is used to convert digital images in standard RGB format into quantum color images. Then, based on the size of the converted quantum color image, the corresponding encryption key is generated using the hyper 5D chaotic system. In the encryption stage, we use the key to encrypt the converted quantum color image. This process entails two principal steps: First, we use quantum Arnold transform to scramble the pixel positions in the image and, subsequently, diffuse the pixel values through a carefully designed cyclic shift strategy to achieve the preliminary encryption of the image. To further strengthen the encryption security, we use a quantum rotation gate to perform quantum rotation transformation on the color channel of each pixel point in the encrypted image separately. These well-designed encryption processes, in succession, significantly enhance the security of the image. This paper provides the corresponding quantum circuit design and validates both the efficacy and security of the quantum image encryption scheme through simulation experimental results.
Abstract In the field of Internet, an image is of great significance to information transmission. Meanwhile, how to ensure and improve its security has become the focus of international research. We combine DNA codec with quantum Arnold transform (QArT) to propose a new double encryption algorithm for quantum color images to improve the security and robustness of image encryption. First, we utilize the biological characteristics of DNA codecs to perform encoding and decoding operations on pixel color information in quantum color images, and achieve pixel-level diffusion. Second, we use QArT to scramble the position information of quantum images and use the operated image as the key matrix for quantum XOR operations. All quantum operations in this paper are reversible, so the decryption operation of the ciphertext image can be realized by the reverse operation of the encryption process. We conduct simulation experiments on encryption and decryption using three color images of “Monkey”, “Flower”, and “House”. The experimental results show that the peak value and correlation of the encrypted images on the histogram have good similarity, and the average normalized pixel change rate (NPCR) of RGB three-channel is 99.61%, the average uniform average change intensity (UACI) is 33.41%, and the average information entropy is about 7.9992. In addition, the robustness of the proposed algorithm is verified by the simulation of noise interference in the actual scenario.
In order to improve the security of quantum color images, this study proposes a novel algorithm for quantum color image encryption based on three-dimensional chaotic systems. The encrypted quantum color image is represented by the novel quantum image representation for color digital image model. The original image is first perturbed by the Arnold transform and then the RGB channel is perturbed separately from the chaotic sequence generated by the new three-dimensional chaotic system by the xor operation. Evaluation metrics such as histogram, information entropy, and correlation of neighboring pixels of the image are analyzed using MATLAB. The simulation results show that the pixel values of the encrypted image are uniformly distributed and the algorithm enhances the security of quantum color images. The specific quantum circuit diagram of the encryption algorithm is given in the paper. The superposition and entanglement properties of quantum physics greatly improve the efficiency of complex image processing algorithms, and the overall complexity of the circuit is O(n), which is efficient and implementable.
