Single-photon routing in a multi- T -shaped waveguide

J. C. Huang, Jingwen Wang, Yao Wang +2 more

Abstract We investigate quantum routing in a multi- T -shaped waveguide coupled to driven cyclic three-level systems. Exact expressions of the scattering coefficients for the double- T and triple- T waveguides are obtained by employing the discrete-coordinate scattering and the transfer matrix approach, respectively. Our results show that high transfer-rate routing of single photons from the input infinite channel to the other channels can be effectively implemented in the extended multi- T configuration, in contrast with the single- T waveguide with the transfer of no more than 0.5. The proposed router may be utilized as a scalable quantum device to control single-photon routing.

Phase-controlled single-photon router and chiral scattering in a π-shaped waveguide with giant atoms

Liming Yang, Z H Zhu, Yi‐Qi Zhang +3 more

Abstract We investigate a π-shaped single-photon router composed of an infinite waveguide and two semi-infinite waveguides coupled through double two-level giant atoms, where each giant atom is further coupled to a single-mode cavity. Using the real-space approach, analytical expressions of the single-photon scattering amplitudes are derived. The numerical results show that optimal routing with unit efficiency can be achieved by precisely adjusting frequency detunings between the incident photon and the atomic as well as cavity resonances, the accumulated phase, local coupling phases and coupling strengths between atoms, waveguides and cavities. Additionally, chiral single-photon scattering is observed, demonstrating a strong direction-dependence in the scattering properties, with perfect chiral scattering achieved under specific phase-matching conditions. We believe that our research has considerable potential applications for designing advanced optical quantum devices and implementing efficient single-photon quantum routing based on giant atom architectures.

High-Efficiency Quantum Routing in a Multi-Cross-Shaped Waveguide

J. C. Huang, Jingwen Wang, Yao Wang +1 more

Efficiently routing the quantum signals between different channels is essential in a quantum multichannel network. We investigate the quantum routing in a multi-cross-shaped waveguide coupled to driven three-level systems. Numerical results show that the high routing capacity transferring from the input channel to the other channels can be explicitly enhanced by effective reflection potentials. The proposed system may be utilized as a scalable quantum device to control single-photon routing .
