Secrecy outage analysis for cooperative DF underlay CRNs with outdated CSI

Weiwei Yang, Xiaoming Xu, Yueming Cai +1 more

In this paper, we investigate the secrecy outage probability (SOP) for the cooperative decode-and-forward (DF) underlay cognitive radio networks (CRNs). Duo to the spectrum sharing approach in underlay CRNs, the secondary transmitters (secondary source (SUS) and secondary relay (SUR)) are subjected to interference power constraint at primary user (PU), and the SU receivers (SURand secondary destination (SUD)) suffer from the co-channel interferences (CCIs) from PU. We focus on the practical scenario where the SU transmitter has no channel state information (CSI) of the eavesdropper's channel. Interference-power-confined selection scheme is proposed for the cooperative DF CRNs in the presence of an eavesdropper. The proposed scheme selects the “best” terminal (SUSor SUR) to enhance the secure performance which must firstly satisfy the interference power constraint. What's more, the effect of feedback delay on the selection scheme is studied. We derive an exact closed-form expression for the SOP. Simulation results validate our theoretical analysis and show that the proposed selection scheme determinately enhance the performance, and feedback delay decreases the SOP seriously, specially, the interference power constraint hugely confine the SOP.

Secrecy Capacity Analysis of an Underlay Cognitive Radio Network in the Presence of Co-channel and Primary Network Interference

Emre Bayat, Sultan Aldırmaz-Çolak

This study investigates the impact of primary network and co-channel interference on the secrecy outage probability and strictly positive secrecy capacity of an underlay cognitive decode-and-forward relay network in Rayleigh fading channels. We consider a single eavesdropper node that tries to steal the transmitted signal at each hop. The secrecy outage probability and the strictly positive secrecy capacity are theoretically derived as a function of the interference sources and fading channels, which has not been studied in the literature. The theoretical results are validated with Monte Carlo simulation results. Consequently, the results show that the secrecy outage probability and the strictly positive secrecy capacity drastically degrade when the number of co-channel interference sources and the PN interference power increase. Outage performance of physical layer security for multi-hop underlay cognitive radio networks with imperfect channel state information

Kyusung Shim, Tri Nhu Do, Beongku An +1 more

In this paper, we consider a multi-hop decode-and-forward (DF) relaying transmission in underlay cognitive radio networks. Considering the presence of an eavesdropper that overhears the transmission, we address secure communications of multi-hop wireless communications in terms of physical layer security. In addition, we take in to account the effect of imperfect channel state information (CSI) which is of importance issue in underlay cognitive radio. We analyze the secrecy outage performance of the system over Rayleigh fading channels. In particular, we derive the closed-form expression of the system secrecy outage probability. The analysis results are validated by the Monte-Carlo simulation results. The numerical results show that the imperfect CSI issue does not effect on the security issue of the transmission in underlay cognitive radio networks. On the other hand, the number of hops plays a key role in the physical layer security.
