Authenticity, Integrity, and Replay Protection in Quantum Data Communications and Networking

Michel Barbeau, Evangelos Kranakis C, Nicolas Perez

Quantum data communications and networking involve classical hardware and software. Quantum storage is sensitive to environmental disturbances that may have malicious origins. Teleportation and entanglement swapping, two building blocks for the future quantum Internet, rely on secure classical bit communications. When lack of authenticity, integrity, and replay protection may have a high impact, quantum data communications are at risk and need to be protected. Building upon quantum cryptography and random generation of quantum operators, we propose a solution to protect the authenticity, integrity, and replay of quantum data communications. Our solution includes a classical data interface to quantum data cryptography. We describe how classical keying material can be mapped to quantum operators. This enables classical key management techniques for secure quantum data communications.

Methods of data protection for quantum secure communication system

Stanislaw Andrzej Rajba, Łukasz Więcław, Сергій Ніколаєнко +1 more

In this paper the methods of data protection for developed by authors earlier multichannel system of quantum secure communication are proposed. These methods allow closing the intercepted data from the unauthorized user. The simulation model of quantum secure communication system on optical fiber is developed. This model depends on three parameters: probabilities of an error in the fiber optic channel, time of detection of unauthorized connection to the fiber optic line and transmission rate. Results of modeling for two methods of data protection are presented.

Cryptography: Advances in Secure Communication and Data Protection

Melvin Victor, D David Winster Praveenraj, R Sasirekha +2 more

In the innovative work secure communication and data protection are being main field, which are emerged by cryptography as a fundamental pillar. Strong cryptographic methods are now essential given the rising reliance on digital technologies and the threats posed by bad actors. This abstract examines the evolution of secure communication protocols and data protection techniques as it relates to the advancements in cryptography. The development of post-quantum cryptography is the most notable development in cryptography discussed in this study. As quantum computers become more powerful, they pose a serious threat to traditional cryptographic algorithms, such as RSA and ECC. Designing algorithms that are immune to attacks from quantum computers is the goal of post-quantum cryptography. Lattice-based, code-based, and multivariate-based cryptography are only a few of the methods that have been investigated in this context.
