Abstract

Using new quantum mechanical formalism based on the probability representation of quantum states [14],[15] the EPRB-paradox is considered. We find that the EPRB-paradox can be resolved by nonprincipal and convenient relaxing of the Einstein’s locality principle. In Part I Einstein’s 1927 gedanken experiment by using the probability representation of quantum states explained successfully.

A new quantum mechanica lformalism based on the probability representation of quantum states

Jaykov Foukzon, Alex Potapov, Менькова Елена Романовна +1 more

A new quantum mechanical formalism based on the probability representation of quantum states is proposed. This paper in particular deals with the special case of the measurement problem, known as Schrödinger's cat paradox. We pointed out that Schrödinger's cat demands to reconcile Born's rule. Using new quantum mechanical formalism we find the collapsed state of the Schrödinger's cat always shows definite and predictable outcomes even if cat also consists of a superposition cat  c 1 live cat  c 2 death cat |c 1 | 2  |c 2 | 2  1. Using new quantum mechanical formalism the EPRB-paradox is considered successfully. Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox and measurement of quantum system

K. Kladko

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox is considered in a relation to a measurement of an arbitrary quantum system . It is shown that the EPR paradox always appears in a gedanken experiment with two successively joined measuring devices.

Über das Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradoxon / On the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox

Peter Mittelstaedt

The EPR experiment is analysed in terms of ordinary quantum mechanics and shown to be compatible with the orthodox interpretation of this theory. There is no need to refer to Bohrs resolution of the EPR paradox, nor is it necessary to assume any further unusual properties of the quantum physical reality. In particular, it is shown that the EPR experiment does not contradict the fact that incommensurable properties cannot be objectivized simultaneously in a quantum mechanical system, and that the measuring process can be understood in terms of quantum theory as an interaction of the measuring apparatus and the object system. From these results it follows that there is no reason to search for modifications of the quantum theory which might be more convenient for a realistic interpretation of the EPR experiment. Furthermore, the EPR experiment cannot be used as a motivation for introducing hidden variables into the quantum theory. Experimental investigations which try to test quantum mechanics in respect to the possibility of introducing local hidden variables can therefore not be justified by the EPR paradox.

A Time-Symmetric Resolution of the Einstein’s Boxes Paradox

Michael B. Heaney

The Einstein’s Boxes paradox was developed by Einstein, de Broglie, Heisenberg, and others to demonstrate the incompleteness of the Copenhagen Formulation of quantum mechanics. I explain the paradox using the Copenhagen Formulation. I then show how a Time-Symmetric Formulation of quantum mechanics resolves the paradox in the way envisioned by Einstein and de Broglie. Finally, I describe an experiment that can distinguish between these two formulations.

Teaching the EPR paradox at high school?

Gesche Pospiech

The discovery of quantum mechanics at the beginning of our century led to a revolution of the physical world view. Modern experiments, made possible by new techniques on the border of the classical and the quantum regimes, offer new insights and better understanding of the quantum world and have an impact on new technological development. Therefore it seems important that students at university and in the final years of high school gain an appreciation of the principles of quantum mechanics. A suitable way seems to be through treatment of the EPR gedanken experiment (thought experiment).
