Abstract

We study quantum phase transition of the [Formula: see text] spin model with Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya interaction, by using quantum correlation measures, i.e. quantum deficit and measurement-induced disturbance. It is shown that as the Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya coupling parameter [Formula: see text] increases, the behaviors of quantum phase transition can be suppressed. We also investigate quantum phase transition for the Ising and [Formula: see text] spin models at finite temperature. It is found that quantum phase transition characterized by measurement-induced disturbance is greater than or equal to that characterized by quantum deficit. Other interesting analytical results and numerical results on quantum phase transition for the proposed spin models are also presented by applying the two measures. Furthermore, we also compare quantum deficit and measurement-induced disturbance with quantum entanglement, quantum discord and quantum coherence.

Correlation dynamics of a qubit—qutrit system in a spin-chain environment with Dzyaloshinsky—Moriya interaction

Yang Yang, An Min Wang

We study the dynamics of correlations for a hybrid qubit—qutrit system in an XY spin-chain environment with Dzyaloshinsky—Moriya interaction. Our discussion involves a comparative analysis of negativity, quantum discord, and measurement-induced disturbance. It is found that the quantum discord is optimal of the three quantum correlations to detect the critical point of quantum phase transition. Only when the qubit interacts with the environment, is the phenomenon of sudden transition between the classical correlation and the quantum discord observed. Moreover, the Dzyaloshinsky—Moriya interaction enhances the decay of quantum correlations.

Quantum correlations in Heisenberg XY spin-1 and spin-1/2 model with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interactions

Wajid Joyia

We study the quantum correlations in a spin-1/2 (qubit) and spin-1 (qutrit) Heisenberg XY model separately, based on quantum discord (QD) and measurement-induced disturbance (MID) respectively. We find the evidence of the first- and second-order quantum phase transition (QPT) in both spin-1/2 and spin-1 systems. The effect of the temperature, magnetic field and Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interactions on QPT and quantum correlation are also investigated. Finally, we observed that the QD and MID are not only vigorous for higher spin systems but also more robust than entanglement.

Quantum Fisher information and coherence in one-dimensional XY spin models with Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interactions

We investigate quantum phase transitions in XY spin models using Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya (DM) interactions. We identify the quantum critical points via quantum Fisher information and quantum coherence, finding that higher DM couplings suppress quantum phase transitions. However, quantum coherence (characterized by the l 1 -norm and relative entropy) decreases as the DM coupling increases. Herein, we present both analytical and numerical results.

Quantum discord for a central two-qubit system coupled to anXYspin chain with Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya interaction

Liang Qiu, An Min Wang

We investigated the quantum discord dynamics of a central two-qubit system coupled to an XY spin chain with the Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya (DM) interaction. We found that the DM interaction does not affect the behavior of the quantum phase transition induced by the external magnetic field. Moreover, the DM interaction enhances the decay of quantum discord in the weak-coupling regime, while it has no obvious effect on the quantum discord dynamics in the strong-coupling regime.

Quantum and classical correlations in the one-dimensional XY model with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

We study the effect of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction on pairwise quantum discord, entanglement, and classical correlation in the anisotropic $\mathrm{XY}$ spin-half chain. Analytical expressions for both quantum and classical correlations are obtained from the spin-spin correlation functions. These pairwise quantities exhibit interesting behaviors in relation to the relative strengths of the physical parameters. For the infinite chain, we show that the quantum discord can be useful to highlight the quantum phase transition, especially for the long-distance spins, where entanglement decays rapidly. We observe nonanalyticities of the derivatives of both quantum and classical correlations with respect to the magnetic intensity at the critical point; interestingly, the DM interaction weakens the critical behavior in the derivatives of these correlations. While the DM interaction suppresses the standard behaviors of the $\mathrm{XY}$ model, it enhances surprisingly the pairwise entanglement for the third nearest neighbor spins.

Quantum critical phenomena in the XY spin chain with the Dzyaloshinski-Moriya interaction (Retracted article. See vol 80, artn 019903, 2009)

We study the effects of the Dzyaloshinski-Moriya (DM) anisotropic interaction on the ground-state properties of the Heisenberg XY spin chain by means of the fidelity susceptibility, order parameter, and entanglement entropy. Our results show that the DM interaction could influence the distribution of the regions of quantum phase transitions and cause different critical regions in the XY spin model. Meanwhile, the DM interaction has effective influence on the degree of entanglement of the system and could be used to increase the entanglement of the spin system.
