Abstract

This paper proposed a newly quantum-inspired Qubit neural tree network with improved Qubit neuron, cross-layer connections and distinct phase operation functions for each neurons. A hybrid evolutionary algorithm that combines the modified gene expression programming with particle swarm optimization is also introduced to obtain the optimal structure with related parameters of the Qubit neural tree network. Three nonlinear system modeling problems are selected to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of the proposed model. The simulation results indicate that the Qubit neural tree network has better nonlinear mapping and generalization ability than related methods do.

Disease Classification Model Based on Qubit Neural Tree Networks

Qi Feng, Qimei Wang, Lili Xu

This paper introduces a quantum-inspired Qubit neural tree networks with improved Qubit neuron, overlayer connections and different phase operation functions for different neurons to construct disease classification model. A hybrid evolutionary algorithm that combines the modified PIPE algorithm with beetle antennae search is also proposed to optimize the structure and parameters of the Qubit neural tree network. Simulation results on two disease classification problems show that this model has more advantages in classification precision, feature selection and structure simplification, especially for classification with multi-class attributes.

Algorithm and Application of the Quantum-Inspired Neural Network Model

Yang Shu-yu

To enhance the approximation and generalization ability of classical artificial neural networks,a quantum-inspired neural network model, whose input of each dimension is a discrete sequence,is proposed. This model concludes three layers,in which the hidden layer consists of quantum-inspired neurons, and the output layer consists of common neurons. The quantum-inspired neuron consists of the quantum rotation gates and the multi-qubits controlled-rotation gates.By using the information feedback of target qubit from output to input in multi-qubits controlled-rotation gate, the overall memory of input sequences is realized. The output of quantum-inspired neuron is obtained from the entanglements of multi-qubits in controlled-rotation gates. The learning algorithm is designed in detail according to the basic principles of quantum computation. The characteristics of input sequence can be effectively obtained by way ofbreadthanddepth. The simulation results show that, when the input nodes and the length of the sequence satisfy a certain relations, the proposed model is obviously superior to the common artificial neural networks.

Controller Application of a Multi-Layer Quantum Neural Network with Qubit Neurons

Kazuhiko Takahashi, Motoki Kurokawa, Masafumi Hashimoto

This paper investigates a quantum neural network and discusses its application in control systems. A learning-type neural network-based controller that uses a multi-layer quantum neural network having qubit neurons as its information processing unit is proposed. Three learning algorithms; a back-propagation algorithm, a conjugate gradient algorithm and a real-coded genetic algorithm, are investigated to supervise the training of the multi-layer quantum neural network. To evaluate the learning performance and the capability of the quantum neural network-based controller, we conducted computational experiments for controlling a nonlinear discrete-time plant and a nonholonomic system - in this study a two-wheeled robot. The results of computational experiments confirm both the feasibility and the effectiveness of the quantum neural network-based controller and that the real-coded genetic algorithm is suitable for the learning method of the quantum neural network-based controller.

Quantum Neural Network for Quantum Neural Computing

Min-Gang Zhou, Zhiping Liu, Hua‐Lei Yin +3 more

Neural networks have achieved impressive breakthroughs in both industry and academia. How to effectively develop neural networks on quantum computing devices is a challenging open problem. Here, we propose a new quantum neural network model for quantum neural computing using (classically controlled) single-qubit operations and measurements on real-world quantum systems with naturally occurring environment-induced decoherence, which greatly reduces the difficulties of physical implementations. Our model circumvents the problem that the state-space size grows exponentially with the number of neurons, thereby greatly reducing memory requirements and allowing for fast optimization with traditional optimization algorithms. We benchmark our model for handwritten digit recognition and other nonlinear classification tasks. The results show that our model has an amazing nonlinear classification ability and robustness to noise. Furthermore, our model allows quantum computing to be applied in a wider context and inspires the earlier development of a quantum neural computer than standard quantum computers.

Hybrid Quantum-inspired Neural Networks Model and Algorithm

LI Pan-ch

To enhance the mapping ability of artificial neural networks, by studying the mapping mechanism of hidden layer neurons, a new idea of designing neural networks model based on rotation of qubits in the Bloch sphere is proposed in this paper. In the proposed approach, the samples are linearly transformed to quantum bit phase, and the qubits are rotated about three coordinate axes, respectively. The network parameters of hidden layer are the rotation angles. The spherical coordinates of qubits can be obtained by the projection measurement. The output of hidden layer neurons can be concluded by submitting these coordinates to excitation functions in hidden layer. The general neurons are applied to the output layer. The learning algorithms of the proposed model are designed based on the Levenberg-Marquardt(L-M) algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed model is superior to the classical(L-M) algorthm in approximation ability, generalization ability, and robust performance.

Quantum Inspired Binary Neural Network Algorithm

Om Prakash Patel, Aruna Tiwari

In this paper a novel quantum based binary neural network learning algorithm is proposed. It forms three layer network structure. The proposed method make use of quantum concept for updating and finalizing weights of the neurons and it works for two class problem. The use of quantum concept form an optimized network structure. Also performance in terms of number of neurons and classification accuracy is improved. Same is compared with a quantum-based algorithm for optimizing artificial neural networks algorithm (QANN). It is found that there is improvement in the form of number of neurons at hidden layer, number of iterations, training accuracy and generalization accuracy.
