Thermal quantum correlations of a spin-1/2 Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction

Abstract

We investigate the properties of thermal quantum correlations in an infinite spin-1/2 Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction. The thermal quantum discord (TQD) and the thermal entanglement (TE) are discussed as two kinds of important methods to measure the quantum correlation, respectively. It is found that DM interaction plays an important role in the thermal quantum correlations of the system. It can enhance the thermal quantum correlations by increasing DM interaction. Furthermore, the thermal quantum correlations can be promoted by tuning the external magnetic field and the Heisenberg coupling parameter in the antiferromagnetic system. It is shown that the behaviors of TQD differ from those of TE. TQD is more robust against decoherence than TE. For the measurement of TQD, the "regrowth" phenomenon occurs in the ferromagnetic system. We also find that the anisotropy favors the thermal quantum correlations of the system with weak DM interaction.

Thermal entanglement of the Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction

Jie Qiao, Bin Zhou

We investigate the thermal entanglement in a spin-1/2 Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain, in which the vertical Heisenberg spin dimers alternate with single Ising spins. Due to the fact that the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction contributes to unusual and interesting magnetic properties in actual materials, and moreover it plays a significant role in the degree of the entanglement of the Heisenberg quantum spin systems, we focus on the effects of different DM interactions, including D z and D x , on the thermal entanglement of the Heisenberg spin dimer. The concurrence, as a measure of spin dimer entanglement, is calculated for different values of exchange interactions, DM interaction, external magnetic field, and temperature. It is found that the critical temperature and the critical magnetic field corresponding to the vanishing of entanglement increase with DM interaction, and the entanglement revival region gets larger by increasing DM interaction, thus DM interaction favors the formation of the thermal entanglement. It is observed that different DM interaction parameters ( D z and D x ) have remarkably different influences on the entanglement. Different from the case D z , there is the non-monotonic variation of the concurrence with temperature in the case D x , and additionally the DM interaction D x can induce the entanglement near zero temperature in the case that the antiferromagnetic Ising-type interaction constant is larger than the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg interaction constant. It is also shown that for the same value of DM interaction the critical magnetic field of the case D x is larger than that of the case D z .

Quantum discord in spin-1/2 Heisenberg chains with Dzyaloshinkii–Moriya interaction

XIAO SAN MA, An Min Wang

We have investigated the quantum discord (QD) of the thermal density matrix of spin-1/2 Heisenberg chains with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction. With fermionization technique, we study the mutual effect of DM interaction and the external magnetic field on the QD and the entanglement. Our analysis implies that the DM interaction can enhance the QD while the external magnetic field will shrink the QD. By a comparison between the entanglement and the QD, we find that the QD is more robust to the temperature and to the external magnetic field than the entanglement of formation (EoF) in the sense that the EoF takes a zero value while the QD does not for high temperature and strong external magnetic field. This point confirms the conclusion that there exist some separable states containing non-zero QD.

Quantum Correlation in Three-Qubit Heisenberg Model with Dzyaloshinskii—Moriya Interaction

Li-Jun Tian, Yiying Yan, Li‐Guo Qin

We investigate the pairwise thermal quantum discord in a three-qubit XXZ model with Dzyaloshinskii—Moriya (DM) interaction. We find that the effects of DM interaction on antiferromagnetic system is distinct from that of ferromagnetic system. The magnetic field supplemented with DM term contribute to enhance the range of quantum discord. It is revealed that the situations where quantum discord fails to indicate a sudden change of groundstate at finite temperature though indicating such a sudden change of groundstate at zero temperature. Dynamics of pairwise thermal quantum discord is considered as well. Thermal quantum discord vanishes in asymptotic limit regardless of its initial values, however, thermal entanglement suddenly disappears in finite time.

Thermal quantum discord in Heisenberg models with Dzyaloshinski—Moriya interaction

Lincheng Wang, Jun-Yan Yan, Yi Xue-Xi

We study the quantum discord of the bipartite Heisenberg model with the Dzyaloshinski-Moriya (DM) interaction in thermal equilibrium state and discuss the effect of the DM interaction on the quantum discord. The quantum entanglement of the system is also discussed and compared with quantum discord. Our results show that the quantum discord may reveal more properties of the system than quantum entanglement and the DM interaction may play an important role in the Heisenberg model.

Thermal quantum correlations in the two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ spin chain with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction

Youssef Khedif, Mohammed Daoud A

We investigate the quantum correlations of a two-qubit XYZ Heisenberg spin-1/2 chain model with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction. The two-qubit system is considered in thermal equilibrium. The variations of logarithmic negativity, uncertainty-induced quantum nonlocality (UIN) and trace distance discord, versus the parameters characterizing the system, are analyzed. The results show that the UIN measure captures quantum correlations that cannot be revealed by entanglement and trace discord. We also show that the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction enhances the non-classical correlations between the spins and can weaken the undesirable destructive effects of thermal fluctuations. In addition, an entangled–unentangled phase transition can be detected from the behavior of logarithmic negativity.

Thermal Entanglement in a Two-Qutrit Spin-1 Anisotropic Heisenberg Model

Erhan Albayrak

The negativity ( N ) as a measure of thermal entanglement (TE) is studied for a two-qutrit spin-1 anisotropic Heisenberg XXZ chain with Dzyaloshinskii—Moriya (DM) interaction in an inhomogeneous magnetic field in detail. The effects of the DM interaction parameter D z on the thermal variation of the N for given values of the external magnetic field B , a parameter b which controls the inhomogeneity of B and the bilinear interaction parameters J x = J y ≠ J z are obtained. It is found that N persists to higher values and to higher temperatures for the higher values of ± D z and for the higher positive values of J z , i.e. in the antiferromagnetic (AFM) case. When J z < 0, the ferromagnetic (FM) case, and D z is small, and if J z is strong enough to compete with D z , N decreases. In addition, N declines with the increasing values of B and b .
