Most Robust and Fragile States with the Same Entanglement Properties

Abstract

Abstract Finding the most robust entangled states and the most fragile entangled states during the whole process of decoherence is particularly a fundamental problem for quantum physics and quantum information processing. Here the robustness of three‐qubit states under three different decoherence channels (amplitude damping, dephasing, bit flip) systematically are investigated, and the most robust genuine tripartite entangled states and the most fragile ones during each of the three decoherence processes are found. Moreover, the states with the most significant difference in robustness are shown to be locally unitarily equivalent to each other and therefore contain the same entanglement properties.

Boundary states for entanglement robustness under dephasing and bit flip channels*

We investigate the robustness of entanglement for a multiqubit system under dephasing and bit flip channels. We exhibit the difference between the entanglement evolution of the two forms of special states, which are locally unitarily equivalent to each other and therefore possess precisely the same entanglement properties, and demonstrate that the difference increases with the number of qubits n. Moreover, those two forms of states are either the most robust genuine entangled states or the most fragile ones, which confirm that local unitary (LU) operations can greatly enhance the entanglement robustness of n-qubit states.

Robustness of Entanglement During Decoherence

Kwang-Il Kim, Bao‐Kui Zhao, Hong-Mei Li +1 more

Finding the most robust entangled states during the whole process of decoherence is a particularly fundamental problem for quantum physics and quantum information processing. In this paper, the decoherence process of two-qubit system under two individual identical decoherence channels is investigated systematically. We find that although the robustness of two-qubit states with same initial entanglement is usually different, the Bell-like states are always the most robust entangled states during decoherence. That is to say, affected by the same amount of noise, the remain entanglement of an arbitrary two-qubit state is not more than that of a Bell-like state with the same initial entanglement.

Robustness of two-qubit and three-qubit states in correlated quantum channels

Zhan-Yun Wang, Feng-Lin Wu, Zhen-Yu Peng +1 more

We investigate how the correlated actions of quantum channels affect the robustness of entangled states. We consider the Bell-like state and random two-qubit pure states in the correlated depolarizing, bit flip, bit-phase flip, and phase flip channels. It is found that the robustness of two-qubit pure states can be noticeably enhanced due to the correlations between consecutive actions of these noisy channels, and the Bell-like state is always the most robust one. We also consider the robustness of three-qubit pure states in correlated noisy channels. For the correlated bit flip and phase flip channels, the result shows that although the most robust and most fragile states are locally unitary equivalent, they exhibit different robustness in different correlated channels, and the effect of channel correlations on them is also significantly different. However, for the correlated depolarizing and bit-phase flip channels, the robustness of two special three-qubit pure states is exactly the same. Moreover, compared with the random three-qubit pure states, they are neither the most robust states nor the most fragile states.

Phonon decoherence of quantum entanglement: Robust and fragile states

T. Yu, Joseph H. Eberly

We study the robustness and fragility of entanglement of open quantum systems in some exactly solvable models in which the decoherence is caused by a pure dephasing process. In particular, for the toy models presented in this paper, we identify two different time scales, one is responsible for local dephasing, while the other is for entanglement decay. For a class of fragile entangled states defined in this paper, we find that the entanglement of two qubits, as measured by concurrence, decays faster asymptotically than the quantum dephasing of an individual qubit.

Robustness of multipartite entangled states for fermionic systems under noisy channels in non-inertial frames

Kwang-Il Kim, Myong Chol Pak, Tae-Hyok Kim +3 more

Abstract We investigate robustness of bipartite and tripartite entangled states for fermionic systems in non-inertial frames, which are under noisy channels. We consider two Bell states and two Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states, which possess initially the same amount of entanglement, respectively. By using genuine multipartite (GM) concurrence, we analytically derive the equations that determine the difference between the robustness of these locally unitarily equivalent states under the amplitude-damping channel. We find that tendency of the robustness for two GHZ states evaluated by using three-tangle τ and GM concurrence as measures of genuine tripartite entanglement is equal to each other. We also find that the robustness of two Bell states is equal to each other under the depolarizing, phase damping and bit flip channels, and that the same is true for two GHZ states.

Analytical method of multiqubit entanglement robustness in correlated quantum channels

Zhen-Yu Peng, Feng-Lin Wu, Jun Li +3 more

In practice, the interaction between quantum system and environment will lead to the decoherence of entanglement. By quantifying the entanglement through the correlation tensor, we systematically investigate the entanglement robustness of two-qubit states under the four types of noisy channels and corresponding correlated channels. We use an analytical method to find all of the most robust and fragile states under the noisy channels. The puzzling phenomenon that the most robust and fragile states have the same entanglement under noisy channels has been investigated. Moreover, we compare the entanglement robustness of a three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state with a $W$ state. Our method shows the behavior of entanglement under the noisy channels and characterizes the entanglement robustness of the multiqubit system analytically.
