A partial differential equation model is analyzed for the two-slit experiment of quantum mechanics. The state variable of the equation is the probability density function of particle positions. The equation has a diffusion term corresponding to the random movement of particles, and a nonlocal advection term corresponding to the movement of particles in the transverse direction perpendicular to their forward movement. The model is compared to the Schrödinger equation model of the experiment. The model supports the ensemble interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Nonlocal advection diffusion equations and the two-slit experiment in quantum mechanics

We analyze a partial differential equation that models the two-slit experiment of quantum mechanics. The state variable of the equation is the probability density function of particle positions. The equation has a diffusion term corresponding to the random movement of particles, and a nonlocal advection term corresponding to the movement of particles in the transverse directionperpendicular to their forward movement. The model is compared to the Schrodinger equation model of the experiment. The model supports the ensemble interpretation of quantum mechanics. Mechanism Interpretation and Math Description of Hybrid Patterns of Non-Parallel-Double Slit Experiment

Hui Peng

The single slit, the curve-single slit, the parallel double slit, the non-parallel double slit, the curve-double slit, and the non-parallel-curve-double slit experiments show the PhotoWave phenomena. In this article, by utilize the PhotoWave concept, we interpret the mechanism of the production of the Hybrid pattern (i.e., the two interference patterns respectively embedded in two diffraction patterns) of the non-parallel-double slit experiment. Based on the interpretation, we propose the math description of the Hybrid pattern.
