Abstract

We investigate the role of quantum correlation around the quantum phase transitions by using quantum renormalization group theory. Numerical analysis indicates that quantum correlation as well as quantum nonlocality can efficiently detect the quantum critical point in the two-dimensional XY systems. The nonanalytic behavior of the first derivative of quantum correlation is observed at the critical point as the size of the model increases. Furthermore, we discuss the quantum correlation distribution in this system based on the square of concurrence (SC) and square of quantum discord (SQD). The monogamous properties of SC and SQD are obtained. Particularly, we prove that the quantum critical point can also be achieved by monogamy score.

Scaling of quantum correlation and monogamy relation near a quantum phase transitions in two-dimensional XY spin system

Qin, Meng, Zhongzhou Ren, Zhang, Xin

The purpose of the paper is mainly to investigate the quantum critical behavior of two-dimensional XY spin system by calculating quantum correlation and monogamy relation through implementation of quantum renormalization group theory. Numerical analysis indicates that quantum correlation as well as quantum nonlocality can be used to efficiently detect the quantum critical property in two-dimensional XY spin system. The nonanalytic behavior of the first derivative of quantum correlation approaches infinity and the critical point is reached as the size of the model increases. Furthermore, we discuss the quantum correlation distribution in this model based on square of concurrence (SC) and square of quantum discord (SQD). The monogamous properties of SC and SQD are obtained for the present system. We finally reveal that the monogamy score can be used to capture the quantum critical point.

Average coherence and its monogamy in a two-dimensional XY model

Xiu-Qin Wei, Yu-Xia Xie

Abstract The critical behaviors of average coherence (AC) in a two-dimensional XY model are investigated by using the renormalization group method. It is found that there is an extremum for the AC of the renormalized blocks at the critical point of quantum phase transition (QPT), and a finite-scaling analysis shows that in the thermodynamic limit, there is a divergence for the AC susceptibility at the QPT point. Furthermore, by considering the bipartite division of the renormalized blocks, it is found that the AC is monogamous and the average correlated coherence is polygamous, and the corresponding monogamy score is also a reliable indicator of QPT. Some constraints on the shareability of AC among the renormalized blocks are also obtained.

Performance of various correlation measures in quantum phase transitions using the quantum renormalization-group method

Yao Yao, Hong-Wei Li, Chun-Mei Zhang +4 more

We have investigated the quantum phase transition employing the quantum renormalization-group method while, in most of the previous literature, entanglement (concurrence) has been barely demonstrated. However, it is now well known that entanglement is not the only signature of quantum correlations and a variety of computable measures have been developed to characterize quantum correlations in the composite systems. As an illustration, two cases are elaborated: a one-dimensional anisotropic (i) $XXZ$ model and (ii) an $XY$ model, with various measures of quantum correlations, including quantum discord, geometric discord, measurement-induced disturbance, measurement-induced nonlocality, and violation of Bell inequalities [e.g., Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality]. We have proved that all of these correlation measures can effectively detect the quantum critical points associated with quantum phase transitions after several iterations of the renormalization in both cases. Nonetheless, it is shown that some of their dynamical behaviors are not totally similar with entanglement and, even when concurrence vanishes, there still exists some kind of quantum correlation which is not captured by entanglement. Intriguingly, CHSH inequality can never be violated in the whole iteration procedure, which indicates that block-block entanglement cannot revealed by the CHSH inequality. Moreover, the nonanalytic and scaling behaviors of Bell violation have also been discussed in detail. As a by-product, we verify that measurement-induced disturbance is exactly equal to the quantum discord measured by ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{z}$ for general $\mathsf{X}$-structured states.

Quantum Correlations in Infinite XY Spin-1/2 Chains and Quantum Phase Transition

Xiaodong Tan, Shou-Sheng Huang, Bai-Qi Jin

We examine the ability of quantum discord (QD) and entanglements (concurrence, EoF and negativity) to detect the critical points associated to quantum phase transitions (QPTs) for XY models, i.e., the isotropic XY model with three-spin interactions at zero temperature, and the anisotropic XY model in a transverse magnetic field h at finite temperatures. For the case of zero temperature, we found that both entanglements and QD can spotlight the critical points of QPTs for these two models. Moreover, QD versus distance M exhibits the long-range behavior of quantum correlation for the anisotropic XY model, while entanglement is short-ranged. For the case of finite temperatures, we found that negativity has the same behaviors with concurrence at or near transition points. Moreover, QD for the anisotropic XY model can increase with temperature even in the absence of a magnetic field.

Quantum renormalization group of the XY model in two dimensions

M. Usman, Asif Ilyas, Khalid Khan

We investigate entanglement and quantum phase transition in a two-dimensional Heisenberg anisotropic spin-$1/2\mathit{XY}$ model, using the quantum renormalization-group method (QRG) on a square lattice of $N\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}N$ sites. The entanglement through geometric average of concurrences is calculated after each step of the QRG. We show that the concurrence achieves a nonzero value at the critical point more rapidly as compared to the one-dimensional case. The relationship between the entanglement and the quantum phase transition is studied. The evolution of entanglement develops two saturated values corresponding to two different phases. We compute the derivative of the concurrence, which is found to be discontinuous at the critical point $\ensuremath{\gamma}=0$, and indicates a second-order phase transition in the spin system. Further, the scaling behavior of the system is investigated by computing the derivative of the concurrence in terms of the system size.
