Abstract

The laws of quantum physics permit us to process information using what is known as quantum computing. A quantum computer is different from a digital computer, while quantum computing sounds like a new technology, the fact is that it is a mathematical approach for finding efficient solutions to computational problems. The quantum computer holds the potential to store huge information than before. They need a special environment to function, but optimizes computation time and ability. The key of this computing future lies in the quantum theory applications to machine learning. Commercial production of quantum computers that would process information faster than today's supercomputers is still some time away. The industry first has to solve hardware issues in quantum technology, according to an expert.Quantum theory represents the smallest scales and shapes of matter, describing the behavior of subatomic particles like electrons, protons, neutrons and photons. In silicon chips of classical computers, the unit of data is rendered in one of two states -0 or 1 pertaining to true/false or yes/no state. However, in quantum theory, data could simultaneously exist in both and holding exponentially more information. The unit, or "bit" in regular computing, becomes "qubit" in quantum theory, which can be either 0/1, or in superposition of both together. This means that the qubit holds greater information storage potential. The use of quantum computing can lead to many fundamental scientific breakthroughs and new technologies with wide ranging societal and commercial applications such as data encryption, new drug discovery and weather prediction. This paper mainly focuses on developing quantum computational capacity which would be India's "top national priority" simply because acquiring such technologies from outside the country will be too difficult and expensive for Indian IT industry. This sector is also a profitable industry and is playing an important role for employment generation and sustainable development of the country.

Quantum Computing: Applications and Future Importance

W. Sarada, N. Rajalaxmi, Suchitha Reddy G.

Quantum computing is a fantastic technology that has been evolved throughout time and is 100 trillion times quicker than a supercomputer. It is based on quantum theory, which can do calculations using probability theory and linear algebra. These two disciplines of research are involved in all sub-areas of Data Science and other contemporary technology domains, and can answer a wide range of complex problems which even the most powerful supercomputer cannot carry out. Instead of just 0's and 1's where the classical computers encipher the data or convert the information, it works on qubit that is, it can hold up to two bits which is called as Quantum superposition where it has two different states zero or one in which it can be defined and is also possible for it to exist in both, i.e. a superposition of the two states. Light based quantum computer outperforms the classical super computer by exceeding its performance speed. Quantum computing can solve known problems such as encryption and cyber security. Quantum computing has the ability to process quickly to arrive at a solution and offers well and more computing power to the world of Artificial Intelligence systems and efficient Machine learning systems by solving small and large problems much faster. The main aim or objective of this paper is to discuss about the applications and importance of quantum computing in future which is very helpful to the people who are associated with cryptography, Aviation, Data Analytics, Forecasting, Medical research, Pattern matching, self-driving cars and so on.

An overview on quantum computing for technology

Vijay Kumar, S. Gupta, Fateh Singh Gill

Quantum computing is a potential technological revolution that will transform the entire field of information processing. However, quantum computing like classical bits in classical computers is operated using quantum bits principle physics based on quantum mechanics. Quantum computing explores many solution spaces simultaneously because of a fundamental difference from the classical computation paradigms, leading to the possibility of exponential speed-up on some computational plant tasks. This paper discusses quantum computing with essential concepts like quantum superposition, entanglement, and applications such as cryptography, optimization, and drug discovery and machine learning. Quantum computing will enable numerous groundbreaking discoveries that were previously unattainable and will bequeath a lasting legacy in the digital innovation era. Quantum computing is an information processing technique that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to conduct calculations far faster circumvented by traditional digital computers. Digital computers utilize bits, which may take one of two forms: 0 or 1. This superposition of quantum superposition and entanglement yielded qubits unique qualities that can’t be expected in classical systems. Indeed, superposition enables qubits to take numerous forms simultaneously, while entanglement enables qubits to be connected such their properties are connected. In cryptography, quantum computers can decrypt existing cryptographic keys or develop new, more secure quantum encryption using qubits. Quantum computers can dramatically accelerate materials science and drug design by allowing scientists to simulate how molecules interact more accurately. In conclusion, quantum computing represents a unique information processing change and has a future impact on science, technology, and society.

Quantum Computing - The Future of Computing

Faisal Hassan, Asif Mushtaq, Waqib Ahmad +1 more

Quantum theory is one of the most successful theories that have influenced the course of scientific progress during the twentieth century. It has presented a new line of scientific thought, predicted entirely inconceivable situations and influenced several domains of modern technologies. There are many different ways for expressing laws of science in general and laws of physics in particular. Similar to physical laws of nature, information can also be expressed in different ways. The fact that information can be expressed in different ways without losing its essential nature, leads for the possibility of the automatic manipulation of information. Quantum computing is a study area that focuses on developing computers based on the properties of “quantum theory” & “quantum physics”. Quantum theory defines the behavior & nature of energy and matter on the “atomic” and “subatomic” levels also known as the quantum levels. A quantum computer is a computational device that utilizes the phenomena of quantum mechanics with its quantum properties to structure & process data. A large-scale quantum computer is capable of performing operations in exponentially enormous speed compared to a classical computer. Development of such computers is considered a massive leap for mankind in computing abilities with huge performance gains for simulations or brute force for example. All ways of expressing information use physical system, spoken words are conveyed by air pressure fluctuations: “No information without physical representation”. Quantum computers are not meant to replace typical computers. In practice, they will be separate instruments used to solve complex, data-heavy problems, particularly those that make use of machine learning, where the system can make predictions and improve over time.

An Overview on Future Applications of Quantum Computing

Taskeen Zaidi, Sijjahalli Sadanandamurthy Sushma

Quantum computing, an emerging trend in computer engineering, originated from quantum physics, which deals with solving problems that were not solved by classical computing. It mainly stored and manipulated classical information in the form of quantum bits (basic unit of quantum information) or qubits. The advancement relies mainly on the particles that persist in two states (different transitions) at same time. The subatomic particles are basically information carriers that mainly consist of high energy particles such as electrons, photons, ions, etc. Quantum computing can be used to tackle various problems related to simulations and optimization. In a quantum computer, qubit or quantum-bit is used as a basic unit of memory. Qubits are created on physical systems and these systems follow the quantum superposition property. The qubits are linked together using quantum entanglement property. The series of qubits can be presented using different things. Quantum computers are exponentially faster than classical computers. Qubits have two quantum states similar to classical computers. The quantum state is represented as Dirac notation.
