Quantum computation has seen immense progress which has popularised logic synthesis with the help of reversible circuits. A reversible circuit is implemented with multiple special types of quantum gates, known as k-CNOT gates. Ion trapping or nuclear magnetic resonance are newer technologies required to emulate quantum gates. This paper presents a reversible synthesis of array multipliers based on Booths Algorithm implemented with reversible k-CNOT gates. Our work has been simulated using the online quantum simulator davyw and its features have been compared with existing reversible array multipliers.

Reversible logic has many applications such as Quantum computing, low power CMOS circuit design, Optical computing. Hence reversible logic synthesis has attracted attention especially in quantum computing community. A logic function is reversible if it is a one-to-one mapping between input and output vectors. In this paper we present a new approach to synthesis of reversible circuits using Kronecker Functional Lattice Diagrams. Unlike other contemporary algorithms for synthesis of reversible function that use n × n Toffoli gates, our method invariably synthesizes functions using only 3×3 Toffoli gates, Feynman gates and NOT gates. This reduces the quantum cost. Our method adds small cost by adding extra ancilla bits. Moreover, our circuits are always (4-neighbors) regular, which is an asset when they are mapped to 2-Dimensional arrays in Ion Trap (quantum) technology.
Abstract Quantum computing has attracted increased attention in recent years owing to substantial advancements in quantum algorithms and system architecture. Quantum algorithms are implemented using quantum circuits. These circuits include an intrinsic reversibility and often have a substantial Boolean component that requires synthesis. A crucial characteristic of reversible circuits is the preservation of parity. Parity-preserving logic is a category that maintains the parity of both inputs and outputs, facilitating the detection of permanent and transient errors. Multiplier circuits are essential components in digital computing systems, playing a crucial role in the development of various hardware, including arithmetic circuits. This paper first introduces a novel block based on a transformationbased synthesis technique from the elementary quantum gates. Then it proposes a distinctive 2×2 parity-preserving reversible quantum Vedic multiplier based on the recommended block and prior gates. In addition, further designs of Vedic multipliers are provided, encompassing 4-bit, 8-bit, and 16-bit configurations. We illustrate that our design brings superior outcomes regarding quantum cost (QC), constant inputs (CI) count, CNOT-V/V + count, garbage outputs (GO) count, and gate count (GC) in comparison to earlier designs. This study achieves an average decrease of 23.09%, 37.51%, 37.51%, 54.89%, and 19.38% in QC, CI, GO, GC, and CNOT-V/V + count, respectively. Furthermore, all suggested circuits undergo appraisal and validation within the IBM quantum laboratory.
Abstract Reversible gates have been one of the emerging research areas in these days. The reversible gates have several applications in the fields of low power CMOS, DNA computing, optical, nanotechnology etc. Quantum computing is one of the fastest and upcoming nanotechnologies that can implement the digital logical circuits using reversible logic gates. In this paper, CNOT, TOFFOLI, FREDKIN and PERES reversible logic gates have been implemented on IBM quantum computer. An efficient one-bit full adder is going to be proposed using the reversible gates like CNOT and TOFFOLI. Later, a 4x4 multiplier will be developed using the proposed one-bit full adder. The proposed multiplier is proved to perform faster calculations compared to the earlier multipliers. The simulation of the presented modules will be done on IBM Quantum computer and the respective probabilities can be observed for different inputs.
Reversible logic as a new favorable design domain can be used for various fields especially creating quantum computers because of its speed and intangible power consumption. However, its susceptibility to a variety of environmental effects may lead to yield the incorrect results. In this paper, because of the importance of multiplication operation in various computing systems, some novel reversible logic array multipliers are proposed with error detection capability by incorporating the parity-preserving gates. The new designs are presented for two main parts of array multipliers, partial product generation and multi-operand addition, by exploiting the new arrangements of existing gates, which results in two signed parity-preserving array multipliers. The experimental results reveal that the best proposed 4×4 multiplier in this paper reaches 12%, 24%, and 26% enhancements in the number of constant inputs, number of required gates, and quantum cost, respectively, compared to previous design. Moreover, the best proposed design is generalized for n×n multipliers with general formulations to estimate the main reversible logic criteria as the functions of the multiplier size.
