Let H be a complex separable Hilbert space; we first characterize the unitary equivalence of two density operators by use of Tsallis entropy and then obtain the form of a surjective map on density operators preserving Tsallis entropy of convex combinations.
Abstract Very recently, Karder and Petek completely described maps on density matrices (positive semidefinite matrices with unit trace) preserving certain entropy-like convex functionals of any convex combination. As a result, maps could be characterized that preserve von Neumann entropy or Schatten p -norm of any convex combination of quantum states (whose mathematical representatives are the density matrices). In this note we consider these latter two problems on the set of invertible density operators, in a much more general setting, on the set of positive invertible elements with unit trace in a C∗ -algebra.
Relative entropies play important roles in classical and quantum information theory. In this paper, we discuss the sandwiched Rényi relative entropy for [Formula: see text] on [Formula: see text] (the cone of positive trace-class operators acting on an infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert space [Formula: see text]) and characterize all surjective maps preserving the sandwiched Rényi relative entropy on [Formula: see text]. Such transformations have the form [Formula: see text] for each [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] is either a unitary or an anti-unitary operator on [Formula: see text]. Particularly, all surjective maps preserving sandwiched Rényi relative entropy on [Formula: see text] (the set of all quantum states on [Formula: see text]) are necessarily implemented by either a unitary or an anti-unitary operator.
In this article we consider certain kinds of metrics and relative entropies on sets of density operators acting on a finite-dimensional complex Hilbert space. The metrics are the ones induced by the von Neumann–Schatten p-norms. We describe the general form of ‘a priori’ nonsurjective isometries of the space of all density operators with respect to those distances. In the second part of this article we study mappings preserving entropic quantities. We determine the structure of ‘a priori’ nonsurjective maps on the set of all density operators which leave a certain measure of relative entropy invariant and also characterize the surjective maps on the set of all invertible density operators with similar invariance properties.
Fundamental propenies for the Tsallis relative entropy in both classical and quantum systems are studied. As one of our main results, we give the parametric extension of the trace inequality between the quantum relative entropy and the minus of the trace of the relative operator entropy given by Hiai and Petz. The monotonicity of the quantum Tsallis relative entropy for the trace preserving completely positive linear map is also shown without the assumption that the density operators are invertible. The generalized Tsallis relative entropy is defined and its subadditivity is shown by its joint convexity. Moreover, the generalized Peierls-Bogoliubov inequality is also proven.
