Abstract

The susceptibility of the Ising model on a kagomé lattice has never been obtained. We investigate the properties of the kagomé-lattice Ising model by using the Wang-Landau sampling method. We estimate both the magnetic scaling exponent yh = 1.90(1) and the thermal scaling exponent yt = 1.04(2) only from the susceptibility. From the estimated values of yh and yt , we obtain all the critical exponents, the specific-heat critical exponent α = 0.08(4), the spontaneous-magnetization critical exponent β = 0.10(1), the susceptibility critical exponent γ = 1.73(5), the isothermalmagnetization critical exponent δ = 16(4), the correlation-length critical exponent ν = 0.96(2), and the correlation-function critical exponent η = 0.20(4), without using any other thermodynamic function, such as the specific heat, magnetization, correlation length, and correlation function. One should note that the evaluation of all the critical exponents only from information on the susceptibility is an innovative approach.

CRITICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE TWO-DIMENSIONAL RANDOMLY SITE-DILUTED ISING MODEL VIA WANG-LANDAU ALGORITHM

Ioannis A. Hadjiagapiou, Anastasios Malakis, S.S. Martinos

Abstract. The critical properties of the randomly site-diluted two-dimensional Ising model were studied using the Wang-Landau algorithm. The concentration of nonmagnetic sites was q = 0.1; the remaining sites were occupied by magnetic particles. The study was carried out in the appro-priate restricted but dominant energy subspaces. The main effort was focused on the specific heat and magnetic susceptibility by using the density of states for the model for lattices with linear size L = 20-120. The finite size scaling behavior of the specific heat and susceptibility was studied. The ratio of the critical exponents (α/ν) is negative (consistent with the Harris criterion), while the ratio (γ/ν) appears to assume its pure Ising model value (weak universality). 1.

Partition Function Zeros of the Ising Model on a Kagomé Lattice in the Complex Magnetic-Field Plane

Seung‐Yeon Kim, Wooseop Kwak

The partition function zeros of the Ising model on a kagomé lattice in the complex magnetic-field plane are obtained. The properties of the Ising model on a kagomé lattice are not known in an external magnetic field. We estimate the joint density of states for the Ising model on a kagomé lattice in an external magnetic field by using the Wang-Landau sampling method. From the joint density of states, we evaluate its partition function zeros (so-called the Yang-Lee zeros) in the complex magnetic-field plane. For the first time, we investigate the unknown properties of the Ising model on a kagomé lattice in an external magnetic field by using its Yang-Lee zeros.

Ising Criticality of the Clock Model from Density of States Obtained by the Replica Exchange-Wang-Landau Method

António M. R. Cadilhe

We performed extensive simulations, using the Replica Exchange-Wang-Landau method, of the clock model for orders 3 and 4 on a square lattice, where critical behaviors are expected to belong to the Ising universality class. Though order 2 represents the Ising model, thus, being exactly solvable in two-dimensions, we still provide such results for comparison to the other two orders. Results for various energy related quantities such as the mean energy per spin, specific heat, as well as logarithm scaling of the peak of the specific heat are presented and shown to follow Ising behavior. Additionally, we also present results related to magnetic quantities, such as the magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, and corresponding scaling behavior of the peak of the magnetic susceptibility. Again, our results show scaling in conformity to Ising critical behavior.

Study of the Antiferromagnetic Blume-Capel Model on kagomé Lattice

Chi‐Ok Hwang, Sojeong Park, Wooseop Kwak

We study the anti-ferromagnetic (AF) Ising model and the AF Blume-Capel (BC) model on the kagomé lattice. Using the Wang-Landau sampling method, we estimate the joint density functions for both models on the lattice, and we obtain the exact critical magnetic fields at zero temperature by using the micro-canonical analysis. We also show the patterns of critical lines for the models from micro-canonical analysis.

Critical properties of the three-dimensional frustrated Ising model on a cubic lattice

Akai Kurbanovich Murtazaev, I. K. Kamilov, Рамазанов Магомедшейх Курбанович

The critical properties of the three-dimensional fully frustrated Ising model on a cubic lattice are investigated by the Monte Carlo method. The critical exponents α (heat capacity), γ (susceptibility), β (magnetization), and ν (correlation length), as well as the Fisher exponent η, are calculated in the framework of the finite-size scaling theory. It is demonstrated that the three-dimensional frustrated Ising model on a cubic lattice forms a new universality class of the critical behavior.

Critical exponents of the three-dimensional random field Ising model

Heiko Rieger, A. P. Young

The phase transition of the three-dimensional random field Ising model with a discrete (+or-h) field distribution is investigated by extensive Monte Carlo simulations. Values of the critical exponents for the correlation length, specific heat, susceptibility, disconnected susceptibility and magnetization are determined simultaneously via finite size scaling. While the magnetization appears to be discontinuous, the specific heat appears to saturate, indicating no latent heat. Sample-to-sample fluctuations of the susceptibility are consistent with the droplet picture for the transition.
