Abstract

The paper presents the results of computer simulation of the generalized Ising model of a quasi-onedimensional nanomagnet by the Monte Carlo method. The simulation is performed for antiferromagnetferromagnet phase transition with periodic boundary conditions. The dynamic scaling ratio Y = v* z and the static scaling relation dv = 2 – α have been verified for the Ising nanomagnet using values of the critical temperature, as well as values of the critical exponents. Temperature dependences of the kinetic critical index and the product of the dynamic critical index Y(T) on the correlation length index of the v* z(T) are constructed for a linear system (cluster) of finite size. The influence of interaction energy of the second, third neighbors, and four-particle interaction on the fulfillment of dynamic and static scaling hypotheses is described. Parameters are found for the dynamic scaling ratio near the critical region to be within the errors. It is shown that the static scaling hypothesis within the framework of the one-dimensional Ising magnet model near the critical region is violated for any type of interaction. However, the relation v + α = 2 is satisfied within the errors for some temperatures. The obtained results are compared with the values for the Ising model with the «dangling ends» boundary conditions.DOI 10.14258/izvasu(2017)4-04

AbstractUsing the Monte Carlo method, critical behavior of the one-dimensional ferromagnetic Ising model has been investigated with allowance for the interaction of the second and third neighbors and four-particle interaction. The obtained results on the critical temperature were compared with the critical temperature of the quasi-one-dimensional Ising magnetic [(СН_3)_3NH] · FeCl_3 · 2H_2O and with the magnitude of the exchange interaction J/k _B = 17.4 K. Within the scope of the finite-dimensional scaling theory, the critical susceptibility exponent has been calculated. It has been shown that values of the susceptibility exponent for the one-dimensional Ising model with periodic boundary conditions are considerably less than the known values of the exponents for three-dimensional systems. The critical susceptibility exponent strongly depends on energy parameters; namely, it decreases with an increase in them.

Influence of the interaction on the heat capacity critical exponent for 1D Ising ferromagnet with periodical boundary conditions

Zh. V. Dzyuba, V. N. Udodov, D.V. Spirin

In the framework of the spin flip dynamics algorithm with an original expression for the energy, an influence of the interaction of second, third neighbors, four-particle interaction, temperature and size of a 1D Ising ferromagnet on the heat capacity critical exponent is studied. Periodic border conditions are used. The critical index α is calculated by the finite size scaling method. It is established that the growth of energy parameters of the multi-spin interaction significantly affects the heat capacity exponent. Interaction energy of third neighbors decreases the value of α to a greater extent than the second-neighbor interaction J2 and four-particle one J1 – 4. Different characters of the influence of pair and four-particle interactions on α are revealed. Energy parameters are established for which this critical exponent attains negative values. For instance, taking into account the interaction energy of third neighbors, with an approach to the critical region, the heat capacity critical exponent has a minimum near negative value of α = –0.0043 ± 0.0005. With increasing number of nodes in the 1D Ising chain, heat capacity critical exponent increases. Extrapolation according to the inverse size of the system in the thermodynamic limit gives the values α = 0.19 ± 0.02, α = 0.17 ± 0.02, α = 0.20 ± 0.02, when one takes into account the interaction energy of second neighbors J2 = 0.1, third neighbors J3 = 0.1 and four-particle interaction J1 – 4 = 0.1, respectively. Note that the second neighbor and four-particle interaction energies do not change the sign of the critical exponent for N > 6, and when approaching the critical region the critical exponent α tends to zero. The results obtained are compared with the values for Ising model with "broken ends" boundary conditions, as well as with other known results for two-dimensional and three-dimensional cases.

Critical Behavior Simulation of the Two-Dimensional Ising Model—A Computational Physics Study Based on the Monte Carlo Method

佳钢 李

To demonstrate the application of computational physics in modern statistical physics, this paper investigates the critical behavior of a finite-size ferromagnetic system based on the two-dimensional square-lattice Ising model.A nearest-neighbor Ising Hamiltonian is constructed, and periodic boundary conditions are adopted to reduce finite-boundary effects. The Metropolis Monte Carlo algorithm is used to sample spin configurations at different temperatures, while energy, magnetization, specific heat, magnetic susceptibility and Binder cumulant are calculated to describe the transition from an ordered state to a disordered state. The simulation results show that the system exhibits clear long-range order at low temperatures, where the order parameter remains high.As temperature increases, thermal fluctuations become stronger, magnetization decreases rapidly, and the system gradually evolves into a disordered state. The specific heat curve shows a pronounced peak at approximately (T = 2.269), while the susceptibility peak shifts slightly toward the high-temperature side due to finite-size effects and the discrete temperature grid.Overall, the simulated critical region is consistent with the theoretical critical temperature of the two-dimensional square-lattice Ising model.Spin-configuration analysis further reveals enhanced fluctuations and domain reconstruction near the critical region. In addition, a thermalization criterion and an extended sampling test for L = 48 near the critical region are added to examine the influence of finite sampling and equilibration. These results indicate that Monte Carlo simulation of the two-dimensional Ising model can effectively reproduce continuous phase transition, critical fluctuation and finite-size effects, providing a basic computational case for understanding critical phenomena in complex systems and data-driven physical analysis.

Ising Antiferromagnet with Nearest-Neighbor and Next-Nearest-Neighbor Interactions on a Square Lattice

Akai Kurbanovich Murtazaev, Рамазанов Магомедшейх Курбанович, М. К. Бадиев

The critical properties of two-dimensional antiferromagnetic Ising model in square lattice are investigated using the replica Monte-Carlo method with account of interactions of second nearest neighbors. The diagram of critical temperature dependence on an interaction value of second nearest neighbors is plotted. Static critical exponents of the heat capacity α, susceptibility γ, magnetization β, and correlation radius ν are calculated for this model using the finite-size scaling theory.

Computer simulation of the critical behavior of 3D disordered ising model

V. V. Prudnikov, Pavel Vladimirovich Prudnikov, A. N. Vakilov +1 more

The critical behavior of the disordered ferromagnetic Ising model is studied numerically by the Monte Carlo method in a wide range of variation of concentration of nonmagnetic impurity atoms. The temperature dependences of correlation length and magnetic susceptibility are determined for samples with various spin concentrations and various linear sizes. The finite-size scaling technique is used for obtaining scaling functions for these quantities, which exhibit a universal behavior in the critical region; the critical temperatures and static critical exponents are also determined using scaling corrections. On the basis of variation of the scaling functions and values of critical exponents upon a change in the concentration, the conclusion is drawn concerning the existence of two universal classes of the critical behavior of the diluted Ising model with different characteristics for weakly and strongly disordered systems.

Percolation effects in quasi-one-dimensional Ising ragged magnet

D.V. Spirin, V. N. Udodov

In recent decades, one-dimensional (quasi-one-dimensional) Ising magnetic compounds have been synthesized, on which new promising materials are based. Here, percolation effects are considered in the model of a one-dimensional Ising magnet of finite nanometer size with boundary conditions “dangling ends”. The model takes into account the interaction with an external magnetic field, nearest-site interaction of nodes, interaction of second and third neighbors, as well as four-particle interactions. To model the phase transition, the Metropolis algorithm was used. Two options for the localization of a nonmagnetic impurity are considered: with mobile impurities and with fixed impurities (frozen impurities). For mobile impurities, the Metropolis algorithm contains the possibility of moving non-magnetic nodes along the chain. In the second variant, when the initial configurations are formed, nonmagnetic impurities in the magnet take random constant equiprobable positions. It is shown that the presence of non-magnetic nodes leads to a weakening of the correlation inside the chain and the magnet breaks up into several parts unconnected by magnetic interaction. The fraction of nonmagnetic atoms, in which the magnet is divided into two non-correlating parts, is an analogue to the percolation threshold in the percolation site problem. The percolation radius corresponds to the farthest nonzero interaction. The paper shows the existence of a relationship between the percolation threshold and the dependences of the relaxation time of the ferromagnet — antiferromagnet phase transition and the dynamic critical exponent Z on the fraction of nonmagnetic impurities in the model of a one-dimensional Ising magnet with fixed (frozen) nonmagnetic impurities. In the case of mobile nonmagnetic impurities, the absence of a clear connection between the percolation threshold and the dependences of the relaxation time and the dynamic critical exponent is shown.
