Cryptography is entering a new age since the first steps that have been made towards quantum computing, which also poses a threat to the classical cryptosystem in general. In this paper, we introduce a new novel encryption technique and algorithm to improve quantum cryptography. The aim of the suggested scheme is to generate a digital signature in quantum computing. An arbitrated digital signature is introduced instead of the directed digital signature to avoid the denial of sending the message from the sender and pretending that the sender's private key was stolen or lost and the signature has been forged. The onetime pad operation that most quantum cryptography algorithms that have been proposed in the past is avoided to decrease the possibility of the channel eavesdropping. The presented algorithm in this paper uses quantum gates to do the encryption and decryption processes. In addition, new quantum gates are introduced, analyzed, and investigated in the encryption and decryption processes. The authors believe the gates that are used in the proposed algorithm improve the security for both classical and quantum computing. (Against)The proposed gates in the paper have plausible properties that position them as suitable candidates for encryption and decryption processes in quantum cryptography. To demonstrate the security features of the algorithm, it was simulated using MATLAB simulator, in particular through the Quack Quantum Library.
In today’s world, security in data communication has become a top-most priority in every organization. In general, cryptography is defined as the methodology to ensure data is secure by employing suitable encryption and decryption techniques. On the transmitter side, the original message is encrypted using a key. Then the encrypted data is decrypted with the duplicate key at the receiver side as per the accepted protocol between the two parties. In conventional cryptographic techniques, eavesdropping is prevented from accessing the contents of encrypted message by employing certain mathematical function and techniques, but this security methodology does not guarantee any key security. In many scenarios, a secure communication link is established by using a key, but a third party with a bad intent may steal the session keys, giving rise to data security, getting compromised. So in this regard, quantum cryptography is a better alternative when it comes to data security integrity. In this research, a detail about quantum cryptography is elaborated on, and also discussed are various concepts like single photon protocol, loss of data in quantum computing, how quantum is affecting computer communication systems. In conventional cryptographic methodology of data transmission and reception, there is always a probability of eavesdropping leading to the compromising of data integrity and security. The solution to this problem can be obtained by integrating the quantum cryptographic technique with data at the sender as well as the receiver, to detect and minimize various errors by employing suitable bit error scheme. This involves the usage of programming language specific to quantum computing like qcl and quipper to achieve efficient encryption and decryption with faster processing capability.
Classical cryptography is the process of hiding information and it manages the secret knowledge by encrypting the plain text message through the translation of it to an unintelligible message. Quantum cryptography is also hiding the plain text through encryption and it works based on the law of quantum physics for providing absolute security of data communication. It uses the idea of quantum mechanics to gadget a cryptographic system and the key problems are solved by intrusion detection including the Eavesdropping detection using quantum expertise. On the contrary, principles of secured communication protocol systems are demonstrated with classical quantum cryptography where the keys are distributed securely and are applied in quantum key distribution as well. In this paper, we provide a survey of works on classical cryptography and quantum cryptography and compare them with respect to time, security level and the classification of the data. Moreover, we perform a concise analysis of perspective classical cryptography and the conception of Quantum cryptography with various protocols and highlight the benefits of classical cryptography and Quantum cryptography in different applications. Finally, we provide a set of recommendations for selecting the suitable encryption model for securing the communication.
Nowadays, the information is exchanged among the computer network. These data and information are involved in business, military, academic education, research and etc. which are shared around the world in both private and public network. Since, many categories of data are required restriction on authorization of access, modify, delete and insert, security in communication is increasingly important to the network communication. Currently, computer security applies mathematic theory to computer security for encrypting and decrypting on both sender and receiver. To use security attack with high performance computer (e.g. quantum computer), attacker can find a key and then obtains the data in feasible period. Quantum cryptography is one of the solutions that use property of polarization to ensure that transmitted data is not trapped by eavesdropper. Quantum cryptography is improved significantly in the last decades including the most two dominant protocol BB84 and BB92.
Based on the principles of both classical and quantum computation primitives, a new symmetric key quantum cryptographic algorithm is proposed. This algorithm can be used to encrypt classical binary messages as well as quantum information. Encryption and decryption are implemented by the aid of classical and quantum computation which can be realized by suitable technology. Because each encryption process is under the control of the key which is dynamically and recursively changed through each round in both encryption and decryption and the final ciphertext states are non-orthogonal, the eavesdropper can not acquire fixed ciphertext without the keys so the eavesdropping attack is invalid, which is guaranteed with the no-cloning theory in quantum mechanics. Similarly, the non-orthogonality of the ciphertext renders the Trojan horse attack strategy impossible. Also the algorithm applies a pseudo random process from stage to stage. This pseudo randomness hinders the ability of Eve to attack such a cryptographic scheme.
Privacy-preserving data-sharing mechanisms traditionally rely on data anonymization techniques, which aim to dissociate individual records from their corresponding data subjects in order to transform sensitive information into a form that minimizes the risk of re-identification. In parallel, trust-broker models have emerged as an additional layer of protection, whereby authorized data providers disclose controlled contact information that enables potential data users to request access under predefined conditions determined by the data owner. In contemporary data-sharing environments, cryptography remains a fundamental pillar for ensuring confidentiality and integrity during data exchange. Cryptographic protection typically involves two operations: an encryption process, in which the sender transforms plaintext into ciphertext that is unintelligible to unauthorized entities, and a decryption process, in which only the intended recipient restores the ciphertext to its original form. Both operations rely on a cryptographic algorithm paired with one or more secret keys. Symmetric-key cryptography employs a single shared key for both encryption and decryption. In contrast, asymmetric cryptography uses a mathematically linked pair of keys, where one key is used for encryption and the other for decryption. When the encryption key is publicly available while the corresponding decryption key remains private, only the legitimate recipient holding the private key is capable of recovering the plaintext. This cryptographic structure forms the basis for securing data confidentiality against unauthorized access in both classical and quantum-aware communication systems.
