Transferring entanglement to the steady state of flying qubits

Yanqiang Guo, Jie Li, Tiancai Zhang +1 more

The transfer of entanglement from optical fields to qubits provides a viable approach to entangling remote qubits in a quantum network. In cavity quantum electrodynamics, the scheme relies on the interaction between a photonic resource and two stationary intracavity atomic qubits. However, it might be hard in practice to trap two atoms simultaneously and synchronize their coupling to the cavities. To address this point, we propose and study entanglement transfer from cavities driven by an entangled external field to controlled flying qubits. We consider two exemplary non-Gaussian driving fields: NOON and entangled coherent states. We show that in the limit of long coherence time of the cavity fields, when the dynamics is approximately unitary, entanglement is transferred from the driving field to two atomic qubits that cross the cavities. On the other hand, a dissipation-dominated dynamics leads to very weakly quantum-correlated atomic systems, as witnessed by vanishing quantum discord.

Geometrical quantum discord and negativity of two separable and mixed qubits*

Tang-Kun Liu, Fei Liu, Chuan-Jia Shan +1 more

We studied quantum correlation and quantum entanglement of a quantum system in which a coherent state light field interacts with two qubits that are initially prepared in a separable and mixed state. The influence of mean photon number of the coherent field and distribution probability of the atom on the geometrical quantum discord and the negativity are discussed. Our results show that the mean photon number of light field and distribution function of the atom can regulate and control the quantum correlation and quantum entanglement.

Squeezing properties in a system of entangled atoms interacting with optical field of Schrodinger cat state

Tang-Kun Liu

The squeezing properties of a light-atom interacting system are studied by means of quantum theory. In the system, two two-level atoms are initially in an entangled state, and the coherent optical field is in a Schrodinger cat state. Influence of the strength of optical field and the phase angle of the coherent states on the double atoms dipole squeezing and the optical field amplitude squeezing are discussed by numerical calculations. It is found that under weak optical field condition, the optical field amplitude squeezing of even coherent state and Yurke-Stoler coherent state interacting with entangled state of atoms is no existence, but the optical field amplitude squeezing of odd coherent states is existence. In the same condition, the double atomic dipole squeezing of even coherent states interacting with entangled state of atoms is no existence, but the double atomic dipole squeezing of odd coherent state and Yurke-Stoler coherent state is existence. Under strong optical field condition, two squeezing phenomenon is no existence.
