INTERPRETATION OF WAVE MECHANICS

Louis de Broglie

Published Dec 1, 1959• 1 citation

Abstract

A restatement is made of the interpretation of the wave mechanic by the double-solution theory. Some results recently obtained are specially made obvious, in connection with new points of view, which commanded attention since 1954-1955. (auth)

Some results recently obtained are specially made obvious, in connection with new points of wiew, which commanded the author's attention since his statements of the years 1954-1955.

THE MEANING OF DECOHERENCE AND A NEW INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS

Guan Hong

The origin and substance of a new interpretation of quantum mechanics——“decohering histories interpretation”——are introduced. The implications of this progress on the development of quantum theory are discussed.

Over the barrier in wave mechanics

Edward J. Burge

The teaching of wave mechanics has received much attention and rightly so, since the topics is so important for physicists and chemists. It is desirable to use the simplest mathematical methods available in order to present the initial concepts and methods of solution, before developing more powerful and abstract methods. It is also desirable to use accurate diagrams of actual cases, taking care both to avoid the selection of special conditions that can give misleading impressions and to identify important special cases with their physical interpretation.
