Abstract

In this article, one of the well-known effects in quantum mechanics is addressed and also the extended form of quantum mechanics which is based on quaternions is presented. In the presence of this version of quantum mechanics the Ramsauer–Townsend effect has been investigated and the existence of this phenomenon is studied according to quaternionic calculations; results are presented by graphs.

The Ramsauer-Townsend Effect and the de Broglie-Bohm Quantum Mechanics

In this work we study the Ramsauer-Townsend effect.First, we use the Quantum Mechanical Formalism of Schrodinger. After, it is calculated with the Quantum Mechanical Formalism of de Broglie-Bohm. In this case, we use the Kostin equation, taking into account the energy dissipation of the electrons scattered by sharp edged potential wells.

Step potential and Ramsauer-Townsend effect in Wigner-Dunkl quantum mechanics

Ali Askari, HASSAN HASSANABADI, Won Sang Chung

In this paper the continuity equation for Wigner-Dunkl-Schrodinger equation is studied. Some properties of ¨ ν-deformed functions related to Dunkl derivative are also studied. Based on these, the step potential and Ramsauer-Townsend effect are discussed in Wigner-Dunkl quantum mechanics

Quaternionic potentials in non-relativistic quantum mechanics

Stefano De Leo, Gisele Cristina Ducati, C. C. Nishi

We discuss the Schrödinger equation in the presence of quaternionic potentials. The study is performed analytically as long as it proves possible, when not, we resort to numerical calculations. The results obtained could be useful to investigate an underlying quaternionic quantum dynamics in particle physics. Experimental tests and proposals to observe quaternionic quantum effects by neutron interferometry are briefly reviewed.

The Ramsauer–Townsend effect in molecular systems of electron-spin-polarized hydrogen and helium and their isotopes

T. K. Lim, Sigurd Yves Larsen

From arguments based on the De Boer quantum parameter and accurate phase shift calculations, we predict that the Ramsauer–Townsend effect occurs in numerous molecular systems involving electron-spin-polarized hydrogen and helium and their isotopes. Our work raises prospects of more precise determination of the two-body potential parameters of these systems as well as exciting quantum behavior in their macroscopic states.
