Radiation-induced interaction potential of two qubits strongly coupled with a quantized electromagnetic field

И. Д. Феранчук, N. Q. San, A. U. Leonau +1 more

We investigate the interaction of two two-level qubits with a single-mode quantum field in a cavity without the rotating wave approximation and considering that qubits can be located at an arbitrary distance from each other. We demonstrate that there exists a radiation-induced interaction potential between atoms. We studied the properties of the system numerically and in addition constructed a simple analytical approximation. It is shown that the observable characteristics are substantially dependent on the distance between the qubits in the strong-coupling regime. This allows one to perform the quantum control of the qubits, which can be exploited for the recording and transmission of quantum information.

Fidelity of optically controlled single- and two-qubit operations on Coulomb-coupled quantum dots

Juliane Danckwerts, Andreas Knorr, Carsten Weber

We investigate the effect of the Coulomb interaction on the applicability of quantum gates on a system of two Coulomb-coupled quantum dots. We calculate the fidelity for a single- and a two-qubit gate and the creation of Bell states in the system. The influence of radiative damping is also studied. We find that the application of quantum gates based on the Coulomb interaction leads to significant input state-dependent errors which strongly depend on the Coulomb coupling strength. By optimizing the Coulomb matrix elements via the material and the external field parameters, error rates in the range of 10−3 can be reached. Radiative dephasing is a more serious problem and typically leads to larger errors on the order of 10−2 for the considered gates. In the specific case of the generation of a maximally entangled Bell state, error rates in the range of 10−3 can be achieved even in the presence of radiative dephasing.

Entanglement and Entropy Squeezing for Moving Two Two-Level Atoms Interaction with a Radiation Field

S. Abdel‐Khalek, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, Beida Alsubei +3 more

In this paper, we analyzed squeezing in the information entropy, quantum state fidelity, and qubit-qubit entanglement in a time-dependent system. The proposed model consists of two qubits that interact with a two-mode electromagnetic field under the dissipation effect. An analytical solution is calculated by considering the constants for the equations of motion. The effect of the general form of the time-dependent for qubit-field coupling and the dissipation term on the temporal behavior of the qubit-qubit entanglement, quantum state fidelity, entropy, and variance squeezing are examined. It is shown that the intervals of entanglement caused more squeezing for the case of considering the time-dependent parameters. Additionally, the entanglement between the qubits became more substantial for the case of time dependence. Fidelity and negativity rapidly reached the minimum values by increasing the effect of the dissipation parameter. Moreover, the amount of variance squeezing and the amplitude of the oscillations decreased considerably when the time dependence increased, but the fluctuations increased substantially. We show the relation between entropy and variance squeezing in the presence and absence of the dissipation parameter during the interaction period. This result enables new parameters to control the degree of entanglement and squeezing, especially in quantum communication.
