Abstract

The evolution law of the field entropy in the J-C model without rotating-wav approximation are invesitigated. Comparing with the results obtained with the rotating-wave approximation, the influence of the virtual photon processes on the evolution of the field entropy are discussed.

Evolution of Field Entropy in the Formation of a Photon-Number State

Zhengdong Liu, Liang Zeng

In the formation of a photon-number state in a micromaser, the evolution of field entropy versus the injected atom number is studied with and without the rotating-wave approximation, and the results in these two different cases are compared. An entropy-decreasing system and the quantum oscillation induced by virtual photons are discussed.

PHASE FLUCTUATIONS IN JAYNES-CUMMINGS MODEL WITH AND WITHOUT ROTATION WAVE APPROXIMATION

LI GAO-XIANG, PENG JIN-SHENG, 华中师范大学物理系,武汉430070

In this paper, we have respectively investigated the time evolution of the phase operator of radiation field in the Jaynes-Cummings model with and without RWA. We verified that the atomic Rabi oscillation leads to the phase dissipation of radiation field by analytical method, and the effect of virtual field can exhibit the quantum fluctuations of system and leads to the frequency shift of radiation field.

ENTROPY FOR THE THREE-LEVEL ONE-MODE JAYNES–CUMMINGS MODEL

E.I. Aliskenderov, TRUNG DUNG HO

The evolution of the atomic (field) entropy is calculated for the three-level one-mode Jaynes–Cummings model. Numerical calculations are performed for various values of atom–field coupling constants and the evolution of the entropy is compared with the corresponding evolutions of the mean photon number and level occupation probabilities.

INFLUENCE OF THE COUNTER ROTATING TERMS ON THE SQUEEZING IN THE JAYNES–CUMMINGS MODEL FOR COHERENT AND SQUEEZED FIELDS

JOSIP SEKE

The significant influence of the counter rotating terms on the squeezing in the Jaynes–Cummings model is demonstrated. Numerical results for the time evolution of the atomic population inversion, and atomic and field squeezing parameters for initially coherent and squeezed fields are presented.

The evolution of a micromaser cavity field without the rotating-wave approximation

Zhengdong Liu, Liang Zeng, Shiyao Zhu

In a micromaser, the evolution of cavity-field entropy and the Fano factor with the injected atomic number is investigated with and without the rotating-wave approximation. The micromaser may become a decreasing-entropy system under specific system parameters. Virtual-photon processes cause an additional quantum oscillation which relates to the atom–field coupling constant and the field frequency.

ENTROPY PROPERTIES OF THE FIELD IN THE TWO- PHOTON JAYNES-CUMMINGS MODEL WITH AN ADDITIONAL KERR MEDIUM

Mao-Fa Fang, Peng Zhou

In this paper, the entropy properties of the field in the two-photon Jaynes-Cu-mmings model with an additional Kerr medium are studied, the effect of nonlineari-ty interaction of the Kerr medium with the model field on the field entropy are discussed. With the help of quantum interference in phase space between two part of the bifurcation of the Q function of the field, the physical mechanism of properties of the field entropy are explained.
