Generating Quantum Entanglement between Optical and Microwave Photons with a Chip-Scale Transducer

Srujan Meesala

We prepare entangled states of single optical and microwave photons using a piezo-optomechanical quantum transducer. This chip-scale device can serve as an entanglement generator between GHz-frequency superconducting qubits and telecom-wavelength photonic qubits in optical fiber. Generation of quantum entanglement between light and microwaves with a chip-scale transducer

Srujan Meesala

We generate entangled microwave and optical photonic qubits with a chip-scale quantum transducer. This integrated device combining piezo-optomechanical and superconducting microwave components on a single chip can interface telecom wavelength time-bin qubits in optical fiber and GHz frequency superconducting qubits. We envision such an entanglement source as a building block for optical quantum networks of superconducting quantum processors.
