Abstract

In this paper, by mean of a quantum-mechanical treatment, we study the interaction of plasma with a coherent electromgnetic field inside a cavity. The eigenstates and eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of this system is obtained. This eigenstates is the generalized squeezed coherent states. The formulas of the squeezing, anti-bunching, sub-Poisson statistics effects and measured phase operator of the generalized squeezed coherent states is obtained. All of these effects are lime conservative.

The Photon Bunching and Anti bunching Effects of A Three level Atom Interacting with the Squeezed Light field in a Kerr medium

Jin Liu

In this paper,we have studied the photon bunching and anti bunching effects in the process of squeezed coherent state interacting with a three level cascade atom inside a high Q cavity filled with a Kerr medium. The influences of the field parameters and the Kerr medium on the photon bunching and anti bunching effects have also been discussed.

GENERALIZED SUPERPOSITIONS OF SQUEEZED COHERENT STATES

G. M. Abd Al-Kader

The superpositions of a pair of squeezed coherent states (SCS) with different squeezing parameters are defined. The characteristic function (CF) for the generalized superpositions of SCSs is given. Photon number distribution for these states is considered. The Q-function for the generalized superposition of SCSs is investigated.

Squeezed states and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with plasma

Y. Ben-Aryeh, A. Mann

A theory is developed for the interaction of coherent electromagnetic (EM) radiation with a free electron gas and for the influence of the plasma on the photon statistics of the radiation field. Two important possibilities for generating squeezed states are shown: Squeezed states can be generated by the interaction of a one-mode laser with a plasma in a cavity; squeezed states can be generated by transmitting coherent radiation through the plasma. The maximal squeezing of the radiation obtained in the latter case is equal to the reciprocal of the dielectric constant of the plasma. Inside the plasma the EM field is represented by quasiphotons. Their dispersion relations are derived by using Bogoliubov transformations together with a self-consistency requirement for the motion of the electrons interacting with these quasiphotons. The squeezing processes are found to be strong when the frequency of the radiation is a little above the plasma frequency. By adding a constant magnetic field in the direction of propagation of the EM wave different amounts of squeezing are obtained for right- and left-circularly polarized EM waves.

Production of Squeezed States in the Interaction between Electromagnetic Radiation and an Electron Gas

Y. Ben-Aryeh, A. Mann

We show that squeezed states can be generated by the interaction of coherent electromagnetic radiation with a plasma. Inside the plasma the electromagnetic field is represented by quasiphotons. The conditions for obtaining squeezed states in this system are related to dispersion relations of the quasiphotons in the plasma.

The Squeezing Effect and Quantum Statistical Properties of One New Coherent Superposition State

Yang Rui-fang

In this paper, the squeezing effect and quantum statistical properties of one new coherent(superposition) state were investigated. The results showed that the coherent superposition state brings squeezing effect, bunching effect and super-poisson distribution. The effects of the coherent superposition state depend on the changes of squeezing coefficient and coherent coefficient,as well as that of coherent state phase and squeezing phase.

We study the non-classical properties of the single-mode electro-magnetic field resulting from the interaction of a Ξ-type three-level atom initially in the coherent state, such as squeezing properties and sub-Poisson statistics. We show that if there are more photons in the cavity, the squeezing will appear earlier and be stronger under the same state, but the sub-Poisson statistics will be weaker, while sub-Poisson statistics and squeezing are more pronounced after the selective atomic measurement.
