Abstract

Abstract In this article, some information theoretic concepts are analyzed for modified Hylleraas plus exponential Rosen Morse potential in position and momentum space. The angular and radial contributions of the information density are graphically demonstrated for different states. The entropy densities have asymmetric shape which depends on the values of quantum numbers. The information entropy is analytically obtained for ground state of the potential whereas the numerical calculations have been performed for the higher states and Bialynicki‐Birula and Mycielski inequality is tested for various states using different parameters of the potential. It is shown that the information entropy is reduced, both in position and momentum space, for careful selection of some parameters. Further, it is found that there exist eigenstates exhibiting squeezing in information entropy of modified Hylleraas plus exponential Rosen Morse and Eckart potential. Interestingly, in case of Eckart potential, the squeezed states are obtained in position as well as momentum space and are attempted to saturate for some values of the parameters.

Quantum information entropies for an asymmetric trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential

Guo-Hua Sun, Shi‐Hai Dong, Nasser Saad

Abstract Shannon entropy for the position and momentum eigenstates of an asymmetric trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential for the ground and first excited states is evaluated. The position and momentum information entropies and are calculated numerically. Also, it is found that is obtained analytically and increases with the potential depth and width. Some interesting features of the information entropy densities and are demonstrated graphically. The Bialynicki‐Birula–Mycielski inequality is also tested and found to hold good.

Quantum information entropies of the eigenstates for a symmetrically trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential

Guo-Hua Sun, Shi‐Hai Dong

Shannon entropy for the position and momentum eigenstates of the symmetrically trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential for the lower states n = 1–4 is evaluated. The position information entropies S x for n = 1,2 are presented analytically. Some interesting features of the information entropy densities ρ s ( x ) and ρ s ( p ) are demonstrated graphically. We find that the ρ s ( p ) is inversely proportional to the range of potential a and the S x decreases with increasing the potential depth D . In particular, we note that the S x might become negative for some given parameters a and D . The Bialynicki-Birula–Mycielski inequality is also tested for a number of states and is found to generally hold well.

Quantum information entropy of Eckart potential

Pooja, Rohit Kumar, G. Kumar +2 more

Abstract In this work, the position and momentum space information densities of the Eckart potential are graphically demonstrated and their properties are studied. The position space information densities have quite an asymmetric shape depending on the values of quantum numbers. The information entropy is obtained and Bialynicki‐Birula and Mycielski inequality is numerically saturated for some parameters of the potential. It is shown that the inequality is saturated with increasing potential depth.

Quantum information entropy and squeezing of 𝒫𝒯-symmetric potential

Aarti Sharma, Pooja Thakur, Girish Kumar +1 more

The information theoretic concepts are crucial to study the quantum mechanical systems. In this paper, the information densities of [Formula: see text]-symmetric potential have been demonstrated and their properties deeply analyzed. The position space and momentum space information entropy is obtained and Bialynicki-Birula–Mycielski inequality is saturated for different parameters of the potential. Some interesting features of information entropy have been discussed. The variation in these entropies is described which gets saturated for specific values of the parameter. These have also been analyzed for the [Formula: see text]-symmetry breaking case. Further, the entropy squeezing phenomenon has been investigated in position space as well as momentum space. Interestingly, [Formula: see text] phase transition conjectures the entropy squeezing in position space and momentum space.

Quantum Information Entropies for the Morse Potential

Ekrem Aydıner, Cenk Orta, R. Sever

Quantum information entropies for the one dimensional Morse potential are discussed in position and momentum space. These entropies for different strengths of the potential well are numerically obtained. Interesting features of the entropy densities are also graphically demonstrated and it is shown that the position and momentum space information entropies satisfy the bound which is obtained by Beckner, Bialynicki-Birula, and Mycielski.

Quantum information of the modified Mobius squared plus Eckart potential

Ifeanyi Jude Njoku, Emeka Onyeocha, Chibueze Paul Onyenegecha +3 more

Abstract The quantum information measures and complexity of the modified Mobius squared plus Eckart (MMSE) potential are presented in this paper. First, the energy eigenvalues and wave function of the system are obtained from the approximate solutions of the Schrödinger equation via the parametric Nikiforov‐Uvarov (pNU) method. Using the wave function, the Shannon entropy, Onicescu information energy and Fisher information of the system are examined for two low‐lying states along with the modified Lopez‐Ruiz‐Mancini‐Calbet (LMC) complexity and Heisenberg uncertainty relation. The results of the work point to the fact that the radial (momentum) probability density peak shifts to lower (higher) values with increase in the screening parameter. Furthermore, the Bialynicki‐Birula and Mycielski (BBM) inequality, the lower bound of the modified LMC complexity, the Fisher information sum inequality and the Stam‐Cramer‐Rao inequality are verified for the system. Also, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle is verified for the MMSE potential and the existence of squeezed states is observed for both position and momentum states.
