Abstract

In this paper the control of vibrational excitation for the linear triatomic molecule has been studied. Selective vibrational excitation has been achieved successfully. Multiphoton excitation and the influence of the laser pulse shape on control have also been discussed.

Effects of the Laser Field on Dynamical Entanglement in Triatomic Molecules

Hairan Feng, Xianfang Yue, Peng Li

Algebraic approach to dynamical entanglement of triatomic molecules in laser fields are proposed. The effects of laser fields on dynamical entanglement are discussed. The researches show that the changes of two stretch vibrational entanglement along with the laser frequency are corresponding to vibrational transitions from different initial states to final states. The sustained entanglement will be implemented by using a two-step laser excitation.

Dynamics of vibrational chaos and entanglement in triatomic molecules: Lie algebraic model

Liang-Jun Zhai, Yujun Zheng, Shiliang Ding

In this paper, the dynamics of chaos and the entanglement in triatomic molecular vibrations are investigated. On the classical aspect, we study the chaotic trajectories in the phase space. We employ the linear entropy to examine the dynamical entanglement of the two bonds on the quantum aspect. The correspondence between the classical chaos and the quantum dynamical entanglement is also investigated. As an example, we apply our algebraic model to molecule H 2 O.

Shaping coherent excitation of atoms and molecules by a train of ultrashort laser pulses

Anahit L. Gogyan, S. Guérin, Yu. P. Malakyan

We propose a mechanism to produce a superposition of atomic and molecular states by a train of ultrashort laser pulses combined with weak control fields. By adjusting the repetition rate of the pump pulses and the intensity of the coupling laser, one can suppress a transition while simultaneously enhancing the desired transitions. As an example, various superpositions of vibrational states of the ${\mathrm{K}}_{2}$ molecule are shown.

Laser Induced Dissociation Control of $H_2^+$ and $H_3^{2+}$

Z.-M. Jia, Zhinan Zeng

Laser induced dissociation control of the symmetric diatomic molecular ion $H_2^+$ and the triatomic molecular ion $H_3^{2+}$ is discussed. The simulation results demonstrate that a long-wavelength terahertz or mid-infrared laser pulse can be used to control the electrons of the dissociative states after the excitation of an ultrashort ultraviolet (UV) laser pulse. For $H_2^+,$ there exists an effective time, which increases with increasing pulse duration of the UV laser pulse, for controlling the molecular dissociation. For the electrons of the $1sσ_g$ state, they move along the polarization direction of the dissociation control electric field. In contrast, for the electrons of the $2pσ_u$ state, they move in the opposite direction to that of the electric force. And for the triatomic molecule $H_3^{2+}$, the electron dissociation control can also be realized by changing the central wavelength of the exciting UV pulse.

Lie Algebraic Approach to Dynamical Entanglement of Vibrations in Triatomic Molecules

Hao Feng, Ping Li, Yujun Zheng +1 more

The relation between dynamics of quantum entanglement and dynamics of molecular vibrations is explored by the Lie-algebraic approach. The analytical expression of reduced-density matrices is obtained by using the algebraic model. The linear entropy, von Neumann entropy and the Lyapunov function are employed to measure the quantum entanglement for various initial states, respectively. The mean values of entropy and the Lyapunov function are also discussed.

Laser Induced Dissociation Control of H2+H_2^+H2+ and H32+H_3^{2+}H32+
Laser induced dissociation control of the symmetric diatomic molecular ion H2+H_2^+H2+ and the triatomic molecular ion H32+H_3^{2+}H32+ is discussed. The simulation results demonstrate that a long-wavelength terahertz or mid-infrared laser pulse can be used to control the electrons of the dissociative states after the excitation of an ultrashort ultraviolet (UV) laser pulse. For H2+,H_2^+,H2+, there exists an effective time, which increases with increasing pulse duration of the UV laser pulse, for controlling the molecular dissociation. For the electrons of the 1sσg1sσ_g1sσg state, they move along the polarization direction of the dissociation control electric field. In contrast, for the electrons of the 2pσu2pσ_u2pσu state, they move in the opposite direction to that of the electric force. And for the triatomic molecule H32+H_3^{2+}H32+, the electron dissociation control can also be realized by changing the central wavelength of the exciting UV pulse.
