Abstract

We consider image recording and reproduction using a reversed stimulated echo hologram, with a recording medium exposed to pulses of nonresonant electromagnetic standing waves. It is shown that the spatial intensity distribution in a stimulated echo hologram response depends on the electric field strength of nonresonant standing waves, which makes it possible to control reconstructed images.

The Image Conversion in Optical Echo-Holography by External Electromagnetic Standing Waves

Guzel I. Garnaeva, Leonid A. Nefediev, А. Р. Сахбиева

The recording and playback of information using a reverse stimulated photon—echo hologram when exposed to the recording medium pulse of non-resonant electromagnetic standing wave was considered. It was shown that the spatial intensity distribution in stimulated echo hologram response depended on the electric field intensity of non-resonant standing wave that allowed controlling by a reproducible image.

Controlling logical operations with images in accumulated echo holography using the effects of information locking and erasing

Guzel I. Garnaeva, Leonid A. Nefediev, Э. И. Низамова

Abstract The possibility of implementing logical operations with images using the accumulated echo hologram in the presence of external spatially inhomogeneous electric fields is considered. It is shown that the photon echo locking effect makes it possible to control the execution of logical operations (from the union of sets to the symmetric difference and their superposition), as well to control their form by varying the values of the gradients of external spatially inhomogeneous electric fields and the phase difference between pairs of pulses.

The correlation of inhomogeneous broadening and the efficiency of data locking in optical echo processors

L. A. Nefedev, G. I. Khakimzyanova

The formation of responses of stimulated photon echo and the efficiency of data locking under the action of a spatially inhomogeneous electric field on a resonance medium are analyzed. It is shown that the action of a spatially inhomogeneous electric field on a resonance medium between the first and second excitation laser pulses leads to the reversible destruction of the phase memory of the medium, which manifests itself in a change in the time-frequency correlation of inhomogeneous broadening. The possibility of controlling the efficiency of data locking by varying the gradient of an external nonuniform electric field is considered.

Recording and reproducing information with various encoding schemes, using stimulated photon echo in a three-level system

Guzel I. Garnaeva, L. A. Nefedev, É. I. Khakimzyanova +1 more

This paper discusses how external spatially inhomogeneous electric fields affect information reproduction in the stimulated-photon-echo response in a three-level system when the information is encoded in the temporal shape of the object pulse and in the time intervals of an echelon of laser pulses taken as the object pulse. The information-locking effect for various encoding schemes is investigated for various unequal spacings of the spectrum of a three-level system.

Effect of locking of photon echo signals in multichannel data recording

L. A. Nefedev, G. I. Khakimzyanova

The effect of locking of a long-lived photon echo is investigated in the case where nonresonant laser radiation (a standing or traveling wave with an artificially created spatial inhomogeneity) serves as an inhomogeneous external perturbation, which results in random shifts or splitting of the initial monochromatic components of the inhomogeneously broadened line. The use of the mutual spatial orientation of the gradients of electric fields as an associative key of access to recorded information allows one to produce a large number of independent channels of data recording. It is demonstrated that the proposed scheme for recording and associative sampling of information has the advantage that, in each channel, information is recorded simultaneously at all optical centers (the whole inhomogeneously broadened resonance line), which does not decrease the intensity of the response from each channel. Moreover, the echo holographic information coded in the wavefronts of the exciting pulses can also be recorded in each channel, which does not affect the independence of individual channels of data recording.

Information losses when recording the stimulated echo-hologram in gas media

Е. Н. Ахмедшина, Leonid A. Nefediev, Guzel I. Garnaeva +1 more

Considered is the impact of collisions with the change of the particles velocity in the 174 Yb vapor exerted on the information reproducibility in the stimulated echo hologram response, encoded in the temporal form of the second object laser pulse. It was manifested that such collisions result in the increase of the "spurious" information, serving the background for loosing information introduced into the object laser pulse in the stimulated echo hologram response.
