Abstract

In this work, a multiple-input single-output (MISO) simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system including one base station (BS) equipped with multiple antennas, one desired single-antenna information receiver (IR) and N (N > 1) single-antenna energy-harvesting receivers (ERs) is considered. By considering that the information signal of the desired IR may be eavesdropped by ERs if ERs are malicious, we investigate the secrecy performance of the target MISO SWIPT system when imperfect channel state information (CSI) is available and adopted for transmit antenna selection at the BS. Considering that each eavesdropping link experiences independent not necessarily identically distributed Rayleigh fading, the closed-form expressions for the exact and the asymptotic secrecy outage probability are derived and verified by simulation results.

On Secrecy Performance of MISO SWIPT Systems With TAS and Imperfect CSI

In this paper, a multiple-input single-output (MISO) simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system, including one base station (BS) equipped with multiple antennas, one desired single-antenna information receiver (IR), and N (N > 1) single-antenna energy-harvesting receivers (ERs) is considered. Assuming that the information signal to the desired IR may be eavesdropped by ERs if ERs are malicious, we investigate the secrecy performance of the target MISO SWIPT system when imperfect channel state information (CSI) is available and adopted for transmit antenna selection at the BS. Considering that each eavesdropping link experiences independent but not necessarily identically distributed Rayleigh fading, the closed-form expressions for the exact and the asymptotic secrecy outage probability, and the average secrecy capacity are derived and verified by simulations. Furthermore, the optimal power splitting factor is derived for each ER to realize the tradeoff between the energy harvesting and the information eavesdropping. Our results reveal the impact of the imperfect CSI on the secrecy performance of MISO SWIPT systems in the presence of multiple wiretap channels.

Max-min energy based robust secure beamforming for SWIPT

Muhammad R. A. Khandaker, Kai‐Kit Wong

This paper considers simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in multiple-input single-output (MISO) downlink systems in which a multi-antenna transmitter sends a secret message to a single-antenna information receiver (IR) and power to multiple single-antenna energy receivers (ERs) in presence of external eavesdroppers. We aim to maximize the harvested energy by the ERs while maintaining the signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) threshold at the IR and keeping the message secure from possible eavesdropping by the malicious attackers by interfering their reception. Both scenarios of perfect and imperfect channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter are studied. Using semidefinite relaxation (SDR) techniques, we show that a rank-one optimal beamforming solution can always be constructed for the IR.

Robust Secure SWIPT MISO

Teckchai Tiong

This paper studies the secure transmission issue for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in a multiuser system with multiple eavesdroppers, where the base station transmitter broadcasts confidential message to legitimate multiple single-antenna information receivers (IRs) and multiple single-antenna energy-harvesting receivers (ERs). Our objective is to optimize the information bearing beam and artificial energy-carrying noise beam in order to maximize the secrecy rate of the IRs subject to individual harvested energy constraints of the ERs for the case where the ERs can form eavesdropping party to carry out joint decoding in an attempt to illicitly decode the secret message intended for the IRs. The initial non-convex problem is converted to convex problem through semi-definite programming (SDP) relaxation for both perfect CSI and imperfect CSI. Numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the performance.

Secrecy Performance Analysis for SIMO Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer Systems

Gaofeng Pan, Chaoqing Tang, Tingting Li +1 more

In this paper, a single-input multiple-output (SIMO) simultaneous wireless information and power transfer system consisting of one base station, one desired information receiver and N (N > 1) energy-harvesting receivers is considered. Each link in the considered system suffers not only from small-scale fading but also path-loss. In particular, we focus on the physical layer security performance including secrecy outage and secrecy capacity in the presence of eavesdroppers. We derive the closed-form analytical expression for the exact and the asymptotic secrecy outage probability while considering each eavesdropping link experiences independent but not necessarily identical Rayleigh fading. The closed-form analytical expression for the average secrecy capacity has also been derived for the case that all eavesdropping links experience independent and identical Rayleigh fading. Numerical and Monte Carlo simulation results are presented to verify our derived analytical models.

Probabilistically Robust SWIPT for Secrecy MISOME Systems

Muhammad R. A. Khandaker, Kai‐Kit Wong, Yangyang Zhang +1 more

This paper considers simultaneous wireless information and power transfer in a multiple-input single-output downlink system consisting of one multi-antenna transmitter, one single-antenna information receiver, multiple multi-antenna eavesdroppers (Eves), and multiple single-antenna energy-harvesting receivers (ERs). The main objective is to keep the probability of the legitimate user's achievable secrecy rate outage as well as the ERs' harvested energy outage caused by channel state information uncertainties below some prescribed thresholds. As is well known, the secrecy rate outage constraints present a significant analytical and computational challenge. Incorporating the energy harvesting outage constraints only intensifies that challenge. In this paper, we address this challenging issue using convex restriction approaches which are then proved to yield rank-one optimal beamforming solutions. Numerical results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed schemes.
