Generation of two-photon EPR and W states

Wesley Bueno Cardoso, Wen-Chao Qiang, Ardiley Torres Avelar +1 more

In this paper we present a scheme for generation of two-photon EPR and W states in the cavity QED context. The scheme requires only one three-level Rydberg atom and two or three cavities. The atom is sent to interact with cavities previously prepared in vacuum states, via two-photon process. An appropriate choice of the interaction times one obtains the mentioned state with maximized fidelities. These specific times and the values of success probability and fidelity are discussed.

A new causal interpretation of EPR-B experiment

Michel Gondran, Alexandre Gondran

In this paper we study a two-step version of EPR-B experiment, the Bohm version of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen experiment. Its theoretical resolution in space and time enables us to refute the classic "impossibility" to decompose a pair of entangled atoms into two distinct states, one for each atom. We propose a new causal interpretation of the EPR-B experiment where each atom has a position and a spin while the singlet wave function verifies the two-body Pauli equation. In conclusion we suggest a physical explanation of non-local influences, compatible with Einstein's point of view on relativity.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering of quantum phases in a cavity Bose-Einstein condensate with a single impurity

Shao-Peng Jia, Baijun Li, Ya‐Feng Jiao +2 more

We study Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering properties of quantum phases in the generalized Dicke model (GDM) generated by a cavity Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) doped with a single impurity. It is shown that the normal and superradiant phases of the GDM exhibit much rich EPR steerability. In the normal phase, there exist one-way EPR steering from the cavity field (condensed atoms) to condensed atoms (the cavity field). In the superradiant phase, there is either one-way or two-way EPR steering for the cavity field and condensed atoms. It is found that the single impurity can act as a single-atom switch of the EPR steering to control the steering direction of one-way EPR steering and the transition between one-way and two-way EPR steering through switching on or off the impurity-BEC coupling. It is proved that the EPR steering parameters can witness the quantum phase transition (QPT) occurrence through the sudden change of the EPR steering parameters at the critical point of the QPT. Our results open a new way to manipulate macroscopic EPR steering and witness the QPT between the normal phase and the superradiant phase in the GDM through a microscopic impurity atom.
