Decoherence dynamics of two charge qubits in vertically coupled quantum dots

W. Ben Chouikha, S. Jaziri, R. Bennaceur

The decoherence dynamics of two charge qubits in a double quantum dot is investigated theoretically. We consider the quantum dynamics of two interacting electrons in a vertically coupled quantum dot driven by an external electric field. We derive the equations of motion for the density matrix, in which the presence of an electron confined in the double dot represents one qubit. A Markovian approach to the dynamical evolution of the reduced density matrix is adopted. We evaluate the concurrence of two qubits in order to study the effect of acoustic phonons on the entanglement. We also show that the disentanglement effect depends on the double dot parameters and increases with the temperature.

QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT OF DOUBLE ELECTRONS IN TWO COUPLED QUANTUM DOTS

Haiyu Li

We study the system of vertically coupled two quantum dots in confined single electron. Coulomb interaction between two electrons and Rashba type spin-orbit coupling are taken into account. It is a two-Fermion system, hence the antisymmetric requirement of electronic states must be considered. Four lower antisymmetric eigenfunctions are found out. Based on the rotation wave approximation, the coherent manipulation of quantum state in an external electric pulse with some resonance harmonic frequencies are investigated. The instantaneous degree of quantum entanglement of the state in time-dependent external electronic field is calculated.

Electric field control and optical signature of entanglement in quantum dot molecules

Gabriel Bester, Alex Zunger

The degree of entanglement of an electron with a hole in a vertically coupled self-assembled dot molecule is shown to be tunable by an external electric field. Using atomistic pseudopotential calculations followed by a configuration interaction many-body treatment of correlations, we calculate the electronic states, degree of entanglement, and optical absorption. We offer a way to spectroscopically detect the magnitude of electric field needed to maximize the entanglement.
