Entanglement dynamics of a three-qubit system with different interatomic distances

Abstract

We investigate the tripartite entanglement dynamics of three two-level atoms in a multi-mode vacuum field. By considering the influences of the interatomic distance and the initial condition on the lower bound of concurrence and the tripartite negativity, we show that an optimal interatomic distance can be found to minimize the collective damping. Interestingly, at the same optimal distance, the tripartite entanglement would be maximized in the open dynamics process. In the case of shorter interatomic distance, the tripartite entanglement can display the oscillatory behavior in the initial short-time limit and be trapped in a stationary value in the long-time limit. In addition, the tripartite entanglement for the general situation with different interatomic distances is also discussed.

Quantum correlations between each qubit in a two-atom system and the environment in terms of interatomic distance

K. Berrada, F. F. Fanchini, S. Abdel‐Khalek

The quantum correlations between a qubit and its environment are described quantitatively in terms of interatomic distance. Specifically, considering a realistic system of two two-level atoms and taking into account the dipole-dipole interaction and collective damping, the quantum entanglement and quantum discord are investigated during the dissipative process as functions of the interatomic distance. For atoms that are initially maximally entangled, it turns out that there is a critical distance at which each atom is maximally quantum correlated with its environment. Counterintuitively, the approach of the two atoms can maximize the entanglement between each one and the environment and, even at the same distance, minimize the loss of entanglement between the pair.

Tripartite entanglement properties among atoms in three Jaynes-Cummings model

LU Dao-ming

In this paper we consider the situation that three identical two-level atoms resonantly interact with three distant single-mode optical cavities via a one-photon hopping separately.Three atoms are in like-GHz state and therr optical cavities are all in vacuum state initially.Using the Jaynes-Cummings,the time evolution of the system is given. We adopt the entanglement tensor approach to quantify the degree of entanglement. The tripartite entanglement dynamics among three atoms and the entanglement dynamics between two atoms are studied. The influence of atomic states initially on tripartite entanglement among atoms and two-body entanglement between two atoms are discussed. The results obtained using the numerical method show:first, the time evolution of tripartite entanglement displays the periodic oscillation behavior and its oscillation period is not realted with the initial degree of entanglement among atmos;second the peak and mean of entanglement measures E3 and F2 incease with increasing of the initial degree of entanglement among atmos, which means that the larger the initial degree of entanglement among atoms, the layer the tripartite entanglement among atoms and the two-body entanglement between atoms;third, the phenomenon of sudden death of entanglement between two atoms occurs, and the length of the death time interval decreases with increasing of the initial degree of entanglement among atoms. This shows that the length of the death time interval of two-body entanglement can be decreased by selecting initially atomic state with high degree of entanglement among atoms.

Entanglement evolution of three interacting twolevel atoms within a common environment

封玲娟 FENG Ling-juan, Yun‐Jie Xia

Entanglement dynamical evolution of three two-level atoms coupled to a common environment is investigated. We utilize the tripartite negativity to quantify entanglement and analyze the effect of the initial state, pairwise dipole-dipole interactions on the entanglement dynamical properties of the system by means of numerical calculations. Results show that a novel quantum interference can be controlled by the relative phase of initially entangled states of the atoms. And the excited-state population can be trapped in the long time limit. Besides, the tripartite entanglement can be enhanced by choosing the appropriate conditions.

Tripartite entanglement properties of coupled three atoms in cavity quantum electrodynamics

LU Dao-ming

In this paper we consider the case that three identical two-level atoms are trapped in a single-mode cavity which is in a weak coherent state initially, and there is an interaction between two atoms. The tripartite entanglement dynamics among atoms is studied. The influences of atom-atom coupling constant and intensity of the cavity field on the tripartite entanglement among atoms are discussed. The results obtained using the numerical method show that the tripartite entanglement among atoms is strengthened with the increase of intensity of the cavity field; on the other hand, it is weakened with the increase of the coupling constant between atoms.

Effect of interatomic separation on entanglement dynamics in a two-atom two-mode model

Kanu Sinha, Nick Cummings, B. L. Hu

We analyze the time evolution of quantum entanglement in a model consisting of two two-level atoms interacting with a two-mode electromagnetic field for a variety of initial states and interatomic separations. We study two specific atomic separations which give rise to symmetric atom-field couplings. For general atomic distances we consider a subset of initial states analytically, and then treat the more general situation numerically. We examine a variety of qualitative features such as entanglement sudden death, dynamical generation, protection, and transfer between subsystems. Our analysis shows a stark contrast in features of entanglement between the two special coupling schemes often considered; further, these features are uncharacteristic of those arising for general distances, due to the high degree of symmetry present in the special cases. The variety of behaviors in these two-mode cases suggest the importance of considering atomic separation carefully for any model where two atoms interact with a common field.

Tripartite entanglement transfer from flying modes to localized qubits

Federico Casagrande, ALFREDO LULLI, Matteo G. A. Paris

We investigate the process of entanglement transfer from a three-mode quantized field to a system of three spatially separated qubits, each one made of a two-level atom resonantly coupled to a cavity mode. The optimal conditions for entanglement transfer, evaluated by atomic tripartite negativity, are derived for radiation prepared in qubitlike and Gaussian entangled states in terms of field parameters, atom-cavity interaction time, cavity mirror losses, and atomic preparation. For qubitlike states we find that for negligible cavity losses some states may completely transfer their entanglement to the atoms and/or be exactly mapped to the atomic state, whereas for Gaussian states we find a range of field parameters needed to obtain a large entanglement transfer. The purity of the three-qubit states and the entanglement of two-qubit subsystems are also discussed in some detail.
