Abstract

We use the numerical shooting method(NSM) for solving the Schrodin- ger's equation of quantum mechanics system for evaluating the correla- tion function under the harmonics oscillator Gaussian Cosine angle two degree rational asymmetric potential. We show that the idea of pro- gram of evaluate correlation function of atomic density for the potential in

Evaluation of Specific Heat Capacity and Entropy of Particle Bound Harmonics Oscillator Cosine Asymmetric Potential by Partition Function

Piyarut Moonsri, Artit Hutem

In this research, a fundamental quantum mechanics and statistical mechanic bound-state problem of harmonics oscillator cosine asymmetric was considered by using partition function method. From the study, it found that the internal energy, the entropy and the specific heat capacity of particle vibration bound-state under harmonics oscillator cosine asymmetric potential were increased as the increasing of the parameters of μ, η, and β. While an increasing of parameter α affected to the decreasing of the entropy and the heat capacity. In addition, the increasing values of the entropy and the specific heat capacity value were depended on the decreasing of the parameter α value.

Applications of the Formalism-II

Shabnam Siddiqui

In this chapter, the authors solve the Schrodinger equation for a harmonic oscillator using two methods, analytical method and algebraic method. They discuss the quantum properties of the harmonic oscillator. A harmonic oscillator is a system that exhibits simple harmonic motion or periodic motion, a motion that repeats itself after equal intervals of time. Many systems such as spring, simple pendulum, vibrating string and molecular vibration can be approximated as simple harmonic oscillators. The authors consider a simple harmonic oscillator, a spring whose spring constant is "k" attached to a mass "m" as a simple harmonic oscillator. They describe the Schrodinger equation in spherical coordinates. The authors also solve the three-dimensional Schrodinger equation for the hydrogen atom. For the hydrogen atom, the potential energy function is dependent only on radial distance and is independent of angular variables. The hydrogen atom consists of a positively charged proton surrounded by an electron that orbits around it.

Quantum Harmonic Oscillators in One and Two Dimensions

Guanghan Xia

The Schrödinger equation is a significant achievement on the development of quantum mechanics. By solving the Schrödinger equation, the fundamental behaviors and properties of a microscopic particle can be found in one- to three-dimensions. The article focuses on the derivations of quantum harmonic oscillators in one dimension by solving second order-differential equation. The wave functions, probability densities under different energy levels are presented. The results can be used to estimate different forms of continuous potential experienced by an oscillator. By calculating the uncertainty relation of the oscillator under one specific excited state, the general relation can be confirmed. Based on the output, by splitting the variables, the two-dimensional harmonic oscillator can also be derived. The degenerate energy levels are presented as . Numerical simulations are made to visualize those results and suggests the relation of energy levels and number of maxima of the probability densities.
