Efficient Enhancement of Nonlinear-Optical Signal by Spontaneous-Emission-mediated Emissive Multiphoton Progress

HU Jie-sheng

This paper reveals that spontaneous-emission-mediated emissive multiphoton progress can efficiently enhance nonlinear-optical signal in the cascade system:1) under the same parameters, the strongest nonlinear-optical signal takes place in the cascade system nearly double than it in the Λ system at coherent-population-trapping;2)within a certain range, the pump-atoms detuning controlled in the cascade system,we can get an increase in the generated nonlinear-optical signal efficiently, which is relaxed restrictions on the resonance between pump fields and atoms, and it is easy to operate.

Binary Optical Communication with Quantum Signals Propagating in Nonlinear Media

Apostol Vourdas

Quantum signals propagating in nonlinear media are studied with the anharmonic oscillator model. The results are used to calculate the information and the signal-to-noise ratio in binary optical communications which use those signals.

Nonlinear optical signals and spectroscopy with quantum light and in microcavitites

Shaul Mukamel, Konstantin E. Dorfman, Markus Kowalewski +2 more

Nonlinear optical signals induced by quantized light fields and entangled photon pairs are presented. Different signals, and photon counting setups are discussed and illustrated for molecular model systems.
