On the position uncertainty measure on the circle

D. A. Trifonov

New position uncertainty (delocalization) measures for a particle on the circle are proposed and illustrated in several examples, where the previous measures (based on 2π-periodic position operators) appear to be unsatisfactory. The new measures are suitably constructed using the standard multiplication angle operator variances. They are shown to depend solely on the state of the particle and to obey uncertainty relations of the Schrödinger–Robertson type.

Positive-operator-valued measure optimization of classical correlations

S. Hamieh, R. Kobes, Haitham Zaraket

We study the problem of optimization over positive-operator-valued measures to extract classical correlation in a bipartite quantum system. The proposed method is applied to binary states only. Moreover, to illustrate this method, an explicit example is studied in detail.

Positive-Operator Valued Measure (POVM) Quantization

Jean‐Pierre Gazeau, Bárbara Heller

We present a general formalism for giving a measure space paired with a separable Hilbert space a quantum version based on a normalized positive operator-valued measure. The latter are built from families of density operators labeled by points of the measure space. We especially focus on various probabilistic aspects of these constructions. Simple ormore elaborate examples illustrate the procedure: circle, two-sphere, plane and half-plane. Links with Positive-Operator Valued Measure (POVM) quantum measurement and quantum statistical inference are sketched.
