The atomic quantum behaviors in the system of two-mode squeezed vacuum field interacting with a two-level atom via two-photon process are studied by means of quantum theory. The condition for the occurrence of coherent trapping and the influence of the squeezing parameters on the atomic dipole squeezing are discussed.

CAVITY FIELD SPECTRA OF AN ATOM INTERACTING WITH TWO-MODE FIELD THROUGH RAMAN PROCESS

Gao Yun-feng, Feng Jian, SHI SHU-REN +1 more

The cavity field spectra of a two level atom interacting with two mode field through Raman process are investigated. It is shown that the basic features of the spectra is unchanged whether the atom is in the high or low level state initially. Symmetrical two peak structure appears in the spectrum for each mode when the initial fields are both in the pure number states or both in the coherent states. The split of the two peaks is proportional to the field intensity of the other mode.

ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF FLUORESCENCE SPECTRUM OF A TWO-LEVEL ATOM INTERACTING WITH AN EVEN COHERENT STATE

Amitabh Joshi

The fluorescence spectrum of a two-level atom interacting with a quantized cavity field in an even coherent state, an eigenstate of two-photon annihilation operator, is investigated and compared with the spectral features obtained in an ordinary coherent state. Differences in the quality of these spectra are attributed to the interference effect present in the even coherent state.
