Abstract

The phase properties of the cavity field of one- as well as two-photon JCM in a Kerr medium are studied by means of a Pegg-Barnett Hermitian phase operator formalism. The time evolution of the phase probability distribution, the phase fluctuations and the number-phase correlation are obtained. The effect of nonlinear interaction of a Kerr-like medium on the phase properties is analysed by comparing our results with those of usual JCMs.

Phase properties of the field in the Jaynes-Cummings model with an additional Kerr medium

Mao-Fa Fang

The phase properties of the field in the Jaynes-Cummings model with an additional Kerr medium are discussed from the point of view of the new phase formalism of Pegg and Barnett. The phase probability distribution, the expectation values and the fluctuations of the Hermitian phase operator and the phase fluctuations are obtained. The effect of nonlinearity interaction of Kerr medium on the phase properties are analysed in comparison with the standard Jaynes-Cummings.

Influence of Kerr Effect on the Phase of the Optical Fieldin the Nondegenerate Two-Photon Jaynes-Cummings Model

Hua Zhao

The property of phase evolution of the light field in the Nondegenerate two-photon Jaynes-Cummings Model surrounded by Kerr medium is investigated in term of the Pegg-Barnett phase theory. The results show that the Kerr offect plays a significant role in the frequency-shift of the fields. The quantum fluctuations of the phase of the light field spread with time. [WT5HZ]

Phase Properties of a Multi-Photon Jaynes-Cummings Model

Chan Yeen Chia, Haslinda Ibrahim

Phase properties are important in understanding quantum entanglement. Several studies have been carried out on the cases for one and two photon transitions. The effect of multi-photon transition on phase properties in Jaynes-Cummings model coupled with Kerr-medium is studied to further understand phase properties in larger system. This paper develops a model as well as compares the results for different photon transition numbers from one to five photon transition using Pegg-Barnett formalism based m easurement. From the developed model, it has been found that the phase state of the quantum system increases during both collapse and revival of photon transition when the Kerr effect increases. This findi ng shows the behavior of phase properties at higher photon transitions which can benefit further studies in quantum entanglement.

Phase Properties of a Field Mode Interacting with a Three-Level Atom with Kerr Nonlinearity

A.‐S. F. Obada, A.M. Abdel-Hafez, A. H. Essawy +1 more

Phase properties of a field interacting with a three-level atom with a Kerr-like medium are investigated through the phase formalism of Pegg and Barnett. The phase probability distribution, the expectation value and the phase fluctuations of the Hermitian phase operator are calculated. The phase properties of the field reflect the collapses and revivals. A number of interesting features are found and discussed.

Phase Distribution of the Output of Jaynes-Cummings Model with the Superposition of Squeezed Displaced

Gamal Mohamed, Abd Al-Kader

The Wigner quasi-probability function for the superposition of squeezed displaced Fock states (SDFS’s) is reviewed. The interaction of these states with a two-level atom in cavity with the presence of additional Kerr medium is studied. Exact general matrix elements of the time-dependent operators of a Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM), in the presence of a Kerr medium, with these states are derived. We have obtained the phase distribution by two dierent ways: one is by Pegg-Barnett formalism, the second is by integration of the Wigner function over the radial variable. Results of these two approaches are compared. The Wigner phase distributions for some values of parameters are illustrated. The behaviors of the distributions have been shown as a function of the squeeze parameter in JCM.
