Repulsive Delta-Function Potential in Two and Three Dimensions

Minoru Takahashi

It is shown by choosing an appropriate variational wave function that the ground state energy is not affected by the repulsive delta-function potential in two and three dimensional systems. Scattering cross section by the repulsive delta-function potential is shown to be zero.

Negative energy states of an ‘‘inverted’’ delta potential: Influence of boundary conditions

A. Rabinovitch

Negative energy solutions are obtained for the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with an inverted delta potential. Several boundary conditions are treated and the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions calculated. It is shown that there are either a single or at most two eigenvalues for each boundary condition. Consequently this example can be used as a device to compare different physical models.
