EVOLUTION AND GEOMETIC PHASE OF SPIN IN A ROTATING MAGNETIC F

Ieldyan Yu-zhen

The evolution of spin 1/2 particles in a rotating magnetic field is discussed. Then the wavefunction of the spin 1/2 particles by using the method of rotating frame is also obtained. At last, the spin reversal ratio, spin polarization vector and non-adiabatic geometric phase in case of resonance and non-resonance are calculated.

Geometric phase of spin-1 in a rotating magnetic field

Xiaoyan Zhang, Lian Hu

The quantum phase and the related fields have attracted considerable attention. The geometric phase of spin-1/2 particle in the magnetic field has been discussed comprehensively, but few of spin-1. In this paper, the exact solution of spin-1 was obtained by using rotational frame method. The problems of the Rabi oscillation, dynamical phase, and geometric phase were solved.

In this paper we obtained the exact solution of spin-1 particles under rotating magnetic field with the rotating frame method. The accurate analytic expressions of some important physical quantities, such as the polarization vector, three energies Rabi oscillation,non-adiabatic dynamic and geometric phases are obtained. The numerical results for above physical quantities are reasonable. The exact solution is useful for discussing some problems in quantum optics and quantum computation.

Geometric and Dynamic Phases for a Spin-1 Particle in a Rotating Magnetic Field

Xuehua Yi

The geometric and dynamic phase for spin-1 particle in a rotating magnetic field are studied. We derive formulae of how to calculate the geometric and dynamic phases for spin-1 particle in adiabatic and nonadiabatic evolutions, and calculate the phases by using these formulae. Finally,we discuss three kinds.Berry phase of When considering ω1ω,the system is in adiabatic approximation,at this time geometric phase is Berry phase.

Geometric phase in quantum mechanics and calculation for spin one-half in a rotating magnetic field

Paul Bracken

A mathematical formalism for describing geometric phases is presented. A development of the geometric phase is given, which is valid for noncyclic nonadiabatic processes. The result is used to calculate exactly the geometric phase for a quantum system that is made up of a spin one-half system in a rotating magnetic field.

Heisenberg Model in a Rotating Magnetic Field

LINQiong-Gui

We study the Heisenberg model under the influence of a rotating magnetic field. By using a time-dependent unitary transformation, the time evolution operator for the Schrodinger equation is obtained, which involves no chronological product. The spin vectors (mean values of the spin operators) are obtained as explicit functions of time in the most general case. A series of cyclic solutions are presented. The nonadiabatic geometric phases of these cyclic solutions are calculated, and are expressed in terms of the solid angle subtended by the closed trace of the total spin vector, as well as in terms of those of the individual spins.
