Abstract

It is comment that the optical squeezed states are usable for quantum teleportation. The effect of fiber losses for pulse squeezed states is important in long distance transmission. In this paper, the influence of fiber losses was discussed for optical pulse squeezed states by means of heat reservoir theory in quantum optics. It is show what effect is obvious in primary account.

Properties of soliton squeezed state in fiber for limited view optical tomography

Li Yu

Based on the linear quantum theory and thermal reservoir model, we quantized the non-linear Schrdinger equation with fiber loss and derive the squeezing ratio formula. We analyzed the different coefficient of the loss which leads to the effect of the squeezed soliton. At the same time, we discuss the relation between the minimal squeezing ratio and the transmitted length along the fiber with the different soliton amplitude.

Entanglement degradation in continuous-variable quantum teleportation

Dirk‐Gunnar Welsch, Stefan Scheel, Aleksej V. Chizhov

The influence of losses in the transmission of continuous-variable entangled light through linear devices such as optical fibers is studied, with special emphasis on Gaussian states. Upper bounds on entanglement and the distance to the set of separable Gaussian states are calculated. Compared with the distance measure, the bounds can substantially overestimate the entanglement and thus do not show the drastic decrease of entanglement with increasing mean photon number, as does the distance measure. In particular, it shows that losses give rise to entanglement saturation, which principally limits the amount of information that can be transferred quantum mechanically in continuous-variable teleportation. Even for an initially infinitely squeezed two-mode squeezed vacuum, high-fidelity teleportation is only possible over distances that are much smaller than the absorption lengths.

Impacts of the self-Raman effect and third-order dispersion on pulse-squeezed state generation using optical fibers

Shinn-Sheng Yu, Yinchieh Lai

Based on a newly developed general quantum theory of nonlinear optical pulse propagation, the influences of the self-Raman effect and third-order dispersion on the achievable squeezing ratio in squeezing experiments with optical fibers at both the 1.3- and 1.55-μm wavelengths are studied. In the presence of these effects, squeezing still survives, but the achievable squeezing will reach a limit as the propagation distance increases. Temperature dependence of the squeezing ratio is also examined.

Influences of Compton scattering on soliton squeezed state transmission in fiber

Zhang Xiao-Fu

Using the nonlinear quantum theory and revised Schr(?)dinger equation, the influences of the multi-photon nonlinear Compton scattering on the propagation of the soliton squeezed state in the fiber are studied, and the squeezing ratio of the soliton propagation is given out.The results show that near the ideal first-order soliton, the scattering can make the smallest soliton squeezed ratio with the increase of the soliton pulse amplitude, that is to say the larger soliton squeezed state can be gotten. With the increase of the loss, the squeezed degree of the squeezed state slowly decreases. When the loss is same, the transmission distance to get the smallest soliton squeezed ratio is shorter than that before the scattering with the increase of the soliton pulse amplitude.

Impacts of the Initial Chirp on Quantum Soliton in Lossy Fiber

Yu Zhong-Yuan

In this paper, the quantum field equation of optical soliton is obtained in the lossy fiber by means of heat reservoir theory. The squeezed ratio of the quantum soliton is obtained with the linear approximation. We study the impacts of the initial chirp on the quantum soliton in lossy fiber with numerical method. The numerical results show that the positive chirp can slower the destruction on the squeezed soliton while the negative chirp quicken the destruction.
