Abstract

While the communication between two sites in the quantum network is carried out,the data frames should be resent once the bit-reversed errors appear.Although this method can guarantee the accuracy of data, the pressure of channel is increased and the communication efficiency is reduced. In order to relieve the pressure of channel, the present quantum bit-reversed error correction circuits were analyzed and improved based on the replication of entanglement and the teleportation to design the seven-particle entanglement of quantum bit-reversed error correction circuits. This improvement can not correct more than three bit-reversed quantum states or phase flip error. The efficiency of protocol and utilization of channels before and after the improvement were compared, and the results show that the latter has higher data transmission utilization and it can supply reference evidence for multi-particle error correction.

A Coding and Automatic Error-Correction Circuit Based on the Five-Particle Entangled State

Xi, Chen, Pei Pei +3 more

In this paper, we discuss the concepts of quantum coding and error correction for a five-particle entangled state. Error correction can correct bit-reverse or phase-flip errors of one and two quantum states and is no longer limited to only one quantum state. We encode a single quantum state into a five-particle entangled state before being transferred to the sender. We designed an automatic error-correction circuit to correct errors caused by noise. We also simplify the design process for a multiple quantum error-correction circuit. We compare error-correction schemes for five and three entangled particles in terms of efficiency and capabilities. The results show that error-correction efficiency and fidelity are improved.

Protocol of Selective Repeat Based on the Data Link Layer

Pei Zhang

Qubits must be sent again when some qubit errors occur in the data frame in the quantum network between the two communicate sites.Although this repeat guarantees the data accuracy, the pressure of the communication channel is increased. In order to reduce the pressure of the channel and improve the efficiency of selective repeat protocol, the authors analyze the existing selective repeat protocol from the process of quantum states’ replication and teleportation. So the cache of the channel is introduced and the selective repeat protocol of the data link layer is improved.Furthermore, the authors compare the efficiency of protocol and the utilization ratio of channel with previous scheme and provide a reference for seeking more effective and efficient communication means.

Implementation of Error Correction on IBM Quantum Computing Devices

Sangat Sharma, Suresh Basnet, Raju Khanal

Quantum noise cannot be avoided in the quantum computing devices due to unstable nature of qubits and signals. The error caused by quantum noise can be detected and corrected using different error correcting codes. In this work, we have tested the feasibility and accuracy of three qubit bit flip and phase flip error correcting code in quantum computer provided by International Business Machine Quantum Experience (IBM QX) cloud platform. Among five quantum processors, ibmq_ourense is found to have highest average accuracy 77.9% ± 3.09% on all qubits simultaneously. Three qubits bit flip error correction circuit gave correct output 89.9% ± 1.01% of the time on average. Similarly three qubits phase flip error correction circuit give 88.05% ±1.89%. The measurement error mitigation has improved the accuracy of bit flip and phase flip error correction code by 5.01% and 7.01% respectively on average. The error rate shows that the error in quantum computations are random in nature and can be corrected. IBM QX quantum computer are suitable for only small scale quantum computation and demonstrate purpose. Furthermore, the accuracy of error correction codes can be increased with the use of higher accuracy quantum qubits and quantum gates.

Quantum Entanglement Information Encoding & Error Correction

Jincheng Zhang

This paper investigates a novel approach to information encoding and error correction leveraging the unique properties of quantum entanglement. The core claim is to construct an information encoding scheme based on entangled states, complemented by quantum error correction codes, to achieve high-efficiency information transmission and storage. The proposed mechanism utilizes multi-body quantum entanglement for encoding, exploiting the correlated nature of entangled states, alongside the development of a specialized quantum error correction code designed to specifically address errors within entangled states. The research demonstrates a potential pathway exceeding the limitations of classical encoding, offering the possibility of superluminal information transfer by directly utilizing the correlations inherent in entanglement and implementing targeted error correction. The theoretical framework presented provides a foundation for future research into scalable quantum communication and data storage systems. The key mathematical components explored include the density matrix formalism, Pauli operators, and the concepts of quantum error correction codes, specifically focusing on their application to entangled states. The primary objective is to establish a robust and efficient method for encoding and correcting information using quantum entanglement, a crucial step towards realizing practical quantum communication networks.

A Review on Recent Advances in Quantum Error Correction: From Theory to Practical Applications

Sandala Lakshmi Deepika, Deepak Ch

Quantum systems operate using quantum bits (qubits), which are highly sensitive to external noises and disturbances and they are easily prone to errors. In the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) era, these errors make difficult to build reliable, fault tolerant quantum circuits for real world deployment. This work provides an overview of need for Quantum Error Correction (QEC) in NISQ devices, as qubits commonly get affected by bit-flip, phase-flip, and combined errors that degrades system performance and examines Quantum Error Correction Code (QECC) techniques usage in communication, computation, and quantum multimedia applications such as image and video transmission. In addition, a simple three-qubit repetition circuit is introduced to demonstrate an error-mitigation approach. These findings, also show how QEC improves fidelity, reduces logical errors, and improves noise tolerance. The analysis also identifies challenges and outlines the future research direction aimed at achieving efficient and scalable fault tolerant quantum circuits.
