Abstract

In a similar to lamda four level systems, the spontaneous spectrum is studied using the driving fields with equal frequency and different phase.Quantum coherent control of the spontaneous radiation spectrum can be realized quantum coherent control through varying the initial phase. The ultra narrow phenomenon and cancellation of the spontaneous radiation can be observed.

Coherent control of spontaneous emission in a four-level system

Emmanuel Paspalakis, P. L. Knight

In this article we study the potential for coherently control spontaneous emission in a four-level scheme. Our control parameter is the relative phase of two laser fields having the same angular frequency. We investigate in detail the trapping conditions, the population dynamics and the behaviour of the (long time) spontaneous emission spectrum, which are now phase dependent. Inhibition of spontaneous emission and extreme spectral narrowing are shown as the relative phase is varied. Our results are interpreted using a dressed state analysis of the dynamics.

Study on the quantum coherent control of spontaneous emission in three ladder-type sysem

Xianming Wang

The quantum coherent control of spontaneous emission in three ladder-type system is researched by using the physical model of two laser fields drives exciting from the ground state to the excited state.By varying the relative phase of the exciting laser fields,we get the following result,Because resonance excited state splits energy levels up,the spectrum lines present the symmetry form about three peak values. When initial phase is same, both sides radiate peak values are higher but lower in the center peak values.Along with increase of initial phase difference, the distance increases gradually between both sides spectrum peak, and the height of spectrum lines gradually descends. When the initial phase difference is equal to pi,spectrum lines disappear completely. The height of center spectrum lines increases along with increasing the initial phase difference, and the widths decrease gradually.Until initial phase difference is equal to pi,the center spectrum line becomes comparatively sharp line, and these realize the entire control both sides spectrum peak. The Cancellation of spontaneous emission is also gained.

Phase Control of Spontaneous Emission

We use the phase difference of two lasers with equal frequencies for the control of spontaneous emission in a four-level system. Effects such as extreme spectral narrowing and selective and total cancellation of fluorescence decay are shown as the relative phase is varied.

Control of spontaneous emission in a four-level system

Yonghong Ma, Jia Liu, Jinyan Niu

Spontaneous emission in a four-level atomic system coupled by two coherent driven fields is investigated. Using a wave function technique, an explicit expression of the spontaneous emission spectrum is derived. The influence of driven fields on spontaneous emission spectra of k and q photons are investigated. The interesting phenomena including spectral line narrowing, enhancement, suppression and quenching, are observed by adjusting driven fields and detunings.

Amplitude and phase control of spontaneous emission

Fazal Ghafoor, Shi-Yao Zhu, Muhammad Suhail Zubairy

We consider spontaneous emission in a four-level atomic system driven by three fields. It is shown that by controlling the phase and the amplitude of the driving fields a wide variety of spectral behavior can be obtained, ranging from a very narrow single spectral line to up to six spectral of varying widths.

Control of Spontaneous Emission of a Four-level Atom by a Microwave Field with Lower Frequency

Nian-Hua Liu

We investigate theoretically the features of the spontaneous emission spectrum of a four-level atomic system driven by a coherent probe field,a coupling laser field and a microwave field. The two upper levels are coupled by a microwave field with lower frequency. The time evolution of the populations is calculated. It is shown that the spectra behavior, such as spectral-line narrowing,spectral-line enhancement,spectral-line suppression, and total cancellation of fluorescence quenching, can be easily controlled by changing the phase and the amplitude of the microwave field.
