Abstract

Fair multi-party certified mail protocol is a value service to deliver important data over internet with guaranteed receipt for each successful delivery. Therefore, the protocol needs to be confidential, and meets non-repudiation,fairness,exclusion and timeliness. This paper pointed out potential security concern for a current protocol, and improved the protocol based on signcryption scheme. The analysis by Kailar logic shows that the protocol can achieve the non-repudiation,fairness.Furthermore,it has advantage of resisting the attacks such as distort, replay and conspiracy.

Design and formal analysis of a new Fair Multi-Party Certified Mail Protocol

Yuexiang Gao, Daiyuan Peng, Lili Yan

Fair Multi-Party Certified Mail Protocol is a value service to deliver important data over internet with guaranteed receipt for each successful delivery. Therefore, the protocol needs to be Confidential, Non-repudiation and Fairness. This paper pointed out potential security concern for a current protocol, and also came out an offline third party fair multi-party certified Mail Protocol based on signcryption scheme. Through the analysis by Kailar logic, it is can be seen the protocol can achieve the non-repudiation, fairness. Furthermore, it has advantage of resisting the attacks as distort, replay and conspiracy.

Analysis and Improvement of a Certified E-Mail Protocol

Peng Dai-yuan

The security attributes of certified e-mail protocol include confidentiality,non-repudiation,fairness.Aiming at to remedy the lack of confidentiality and non-repudiation of the a typical certified mail protocol,an improved certified mail protocol with transparent semi-trusted third party is proposed. To improve the protocol efficiency,a method applying Kailar logic in compositional analysis is proposed for analyzing the improved protocol. The analysis results indicate the improved protocol can meet confidentiality and non-repudiation.

Multi-party Certified Mail Protocol Based on Signcryption

YU Cheng-zun

A new signcryption scheme is developed based on Domain-verifiable signcryption. The scheme simultaneously fulfills both signature and encryption in a single logical step at a lower computational cost.In particular,it can be used by certified mail protocol, and based on the scheme a multi-party certified mail protocol is proposed, its fairness and non-repudiation are proved.

Efficient and secure protocol in fair certified E-mail delivery

Ren-Junn Hwang, Chih-Hua Lai

Abstract:- An efficient and secure protocol in certified e-mail delivery is proposed in this paper. With the widespread use of public Internet, communication via electronic mail (e-mail) becomes a convenience application instead of traditional manuscript letter. People can easily append his/her digital signature to the e-mail in order to achieve the goal of non-repudiation of origin. However, the evidence of receipt still relies on the willingness of the recipient in the standard e-mail service. Hence, the recipient has no responsible for the received e-mail. In this paper, we present an efficient and secure protocol in fair certified e-mail delivery (CEMD). Our protocol efficiently provides non-repudiation of origin and receipt in the fair manner. In other words, the sender can obtain the irrefutable receipt if and only if the recipient gets the certified e-mail from the sender, otherwise, neither of them. Moreover, the proposed CEMD is efficiently in sending the other mails to the same recipient by using the pre-computation function. As the evaluations of computational cost and communication overhead, our protocol is cost-effective and efficient than other relevant protocols.

Optimized multi‐party certified email protocols

Jianying Zhou, Jose Antonio Onieva, Javier López

Purpose As a value‐added service to deliver important data over the internet with guaranteed receipt for each successful delivery, certified email has been discussed for years and a number of research papers appeared in the literature. This paper aims to present two optimized multi‐party certified email protocols. Design/methodology/approach Reviews two existing email protocols and provides a modified version to overcome their security flaws and weaknesses. Extends the two‐party protocol to a multi‐party scenario. Findings Both of the protocols have three major features. A sender could notify multiple recipients of the same information while only those recipients who acknowledged are able to get the information. Both the sender and the recipients can end a protocol run at any time without breach of fairness. The exchange protocols are optimized, each of which has only three steps, and the trusted third party will not be involved unless an exception (e.g. a network failure or a party's misbehavior) occurs. Originality/value Provides a focus on a value‐added service – certified email.

Certified Mail Protocols by Using Signcryption System

Wang Gai-fen

Certified mail protocol is fair exchange of a message M for a receipt.Fairness is the most important property in exchange. We modify existing signcryption system so that it can be used by certified mail protocols, and based on the system we propose new certified mail protocols to guarantee fairness and low computation cost.
