Abstract

Investigates the property of entanglement between a pair of two-level atoms placed in two apart squeezed reservoirs correlated by two-mode squeezed light.Studies the relation of the property to the qubits initial state. The result shows that the sudden death and revival of entanglement of the qubits always occurs between the apart squeezed reservoirs with the time evolution.Never-theless,each the entanglements of various initial state eventually maintains at a same stationry level, has no relationship with the initial state of atom.

Controlling entanglement dynamics of two qubits coupled to a common reservoir via a coherent field

S. R. J. PATRICK, Fuli Li, Meng Wang +1 more

We investigate the time evolution of entanglement between two two-level atoms which are coupled to a common multimode electromagnetic reservoir and simultaneously driven by a coherent field. We find that the entanglement can always be created and maintained with a moderate intensity of the driving field during the track of approaching steady entangled states when both atoms are initially in their ground states and the reservoir is in the vacuum state or the squeezed vacuum state. We also show that the steady-state entanglement between the atoms can be enhanced by use of the coherent field when the reservoir is in the weakly squeezed vacuum state. More interestingly, in the squeezed reservoir case, the sudden death period in the time evolution of the entanglement can be removed by use of the coherent driving field.

Photon exchange and correlation transfer in atom-atom entanglement dynamics

Juan León, Carlos Sabín

We analyze the entanglement dynamics of a system composed by a pair of neutral two-level atoms that are initially entangled, and the electromagnetic field, initially in the vacuum state, within the formalism of perturbative quantum field theory up to the second order. We show that entanglement sudden death and revival can occur while the atoms remain spacelike separated and therefore cannot be related with photon exchange between the atoms. We interpret these phenomena as the consequence of a transfer of atom-atom entanglement to atom-field entanglement and vice versa. We also consider the different bipartitions of the system, finding similar relationships between their entanglement evolutions.

Coherence and entanglement in a two-qubit system

Miguel Orszag, Maritza Hernandez

Entanglement is a fundamental concept in quantum mechanics. In this review, we study various aspects of coherence and entanglement, illustrated by several examples. We relate the concepts of loss of coherence and disentanglement, via a model of two two-level atoms in different types of reservoir, including cases of both independent and common baths. Finally, we relate decoherence and disentanglement, by focusing on the sudden death of the entanglement and the dependence of the death time with the distance of our initial condition from the decoherence-free subspace. In particular, we study the sudden death of the entanglement in a two-atom system with a common reservoir.

Dynamics of entangled states in squeezed reservoirs

Khalid Saleh Aloufi, Smail B. Bougouffa, Z. Ficek

Dynamics of entangled states of two independent single-mode cavities in squeezed reservoirs is investigated in the context of matching of the correlations contained in the entangled states to those contained in the squeezed reservoir. We illustrate our considerations by examining the time evolution of entanglement of single and double excitation NOON and EPR states. A comparison is made when each cavity is coupled to own reservoir or both cavities are coupled to a common reservoir. It is shown that the evolution of the initial entanglement and transfer of entanglement from the squeezed reservoir to the cavity modes depend crucially on the matching of the initial correlations to that contained in the squeezed reservoir. In particular, it is found that initially entangled modes with correlations different from the reservoir correlations prevent the transfer of the correlations from the squeezed field to the modes. In addition, we find that the transient entanglement exhibits several features unique to quantum nature of squeezing. In particular, we show that in the case of separate squeezed reservoirs a variation of the decay time of the initial entanglement with the squeezing phase is unique to quantum squeezing. In the case of a common reservoir a recurrence of entanglement occurs and we find that this feature also results from the reservoir correlations unique to quantum squeezing. There is no revival of entanglement when the modes interact with a classically squeezed field.

Decoherence and disentanglement for two qubits in a common squeezed reservoir

Maritza Hernandez, Miguel Orszag

We study the relation between the sudden death and revival of the entanglement of two qubits in a common squeezed bath and the decoherence. By getting ``close'' to the decoherence free subspace, we show that the death time shows a decrease and subsequent increase until the sudden death disappears and the concurrence goes to its steady-state value asymptotically.

Dynamics of entangled states in a correlated reservoir

In addition, we find that the transient entanglement exhibits several features unique to the quantum nature of squeezing. In particular, we show that in the case of separate squeezed reservoirs the initial entanglement disappears at a finite time, which for the so-called classically squeezed field remains almost the same as in the case of a thermal field. In the case of a common reservoir a recurrence of entanglement occurs and we find that this feature also results from the reservoir correlations unique to quantum correlations. There is no revival of the entanglement when the modes interact with a classically correlated field.
