Abstract

he manipulation of the Goos-Hnchen shifts in the reflected and transmitted light beam through a cavity containing two-level atomic medium, via two external coherent control field,by modifying the dispersion-absorption properties of the intracavity medium, the lateral shifts of the reflected and transmitted beams can be easily controlled by adjusting detuning of the external control field. And the lateral shifts can be enhanced in weak amplification region.

Coherent control of the Goos-Hnchen shift in four-level atomic medium

苏佳妮 Su Jiani, Wenwu Deng, Gao‐xiang Li

The manipulation of the Goos-Hnchen shifts in the reflected and transmitted light beam through a cavity containing four-level atomic medium is investigated by modifying the dispersion-absorption properties of the intracavity medium. Via two external coherent control fields, the Goos-Hnchen shifts of the reflected and transmitted beam can be easily controlled. It is found that around the transparent region of the medium, the Goos-Hnchen shifts are very sensitive and can be enhanced as compared with strong absorption and amplification.

Control of the Goos-Hänchen shift of a light beam via a coherent driving field

Li‐Gang Wang, Manzoor Ikram, Muhammad Suhail Zubairy

We present a proposal to manipulate the Goos-H\"anchen shift of a light beam via a coherent control field, which is injected into a cavity configuration containing the two-level atomic medium. It is found that the lateral shifts of the reflected and transmitted probe beams can be easily controlled by adjusting the intensity and detuning of the control field. Using this scheme, the lateral shift at the fixed incident angle can be enhanced (positive or negative) under the suitable conditions on the control field, without changing the structure of the cavity.

Control of the Goos-Hnchen shifts via quantum spontaneously generated coherence

Lihui Sun

The Goos-Hnchen shifts in the transmitted and reflected light beams through a fixed cavity containing four-level atomic medium is researched via quantum spontaneously generated coherence and trigger field. We find that the lateral shifts of the transmitted and reflected beams can be easily controlled by adjusting detuning and intensity of the external trigger field at certain quantum spontaneously generated coherence. We also note large Goos-Hnchen shifts at certain cases.

Control of the Goos-Hänchen shift using a duplicated two-level atomic medium

Ziauddin Ziauddin, Sajid Qamar

Control of Goos-H$\stackrel{\ifmmode \ddot{}\else \"{}\fi{}}{\text{a}}$nchen (GH) shift in reflected and transmitted light is revisited for a Gaussian light incident on a cavity. The intracavity atomic medium follows duplicated two-level atomic configurations where two fields, i.e., a strong control field and a relatively weak probe field are employed [F. A. Hashmi and M. A. Bouchene, Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 213601 (2008)]. The coherent control is achieved via phase shift $\ensuremath{\phi}$ between control and probe fields. The effect of incident light width on negative or positive GH shifts and distortion in the reflected and transmitted light is investigated.

We present a proposal to manipulate the Goos-Hanchen shift of a TM-polarized light beam via a coherent control field, which is injected into a cavity configuration containing the four-level EIT atomic medium. It is found that the lateral shifts of both reflected and transmitted probe beam can be easily controlled by adjusting the intensity of control field.

Coherent Control of the Goos-Hänchen Shift in a Cavity Containing a Five-Level Double-Ladder Atomic System

Changyou Luo, Yongqiang Kang, Xiaoyu Dai +1 more

In this paper, we proposed a cavity containing an intracavity medium of five-level double-ladder-type atoms with electromagnetically induced transparency to enhance Goos-Hänchen shifts of reflected and transmitted light beams. The dependence of the Goos-Hänchen shifts has been analyzed. It is shown that Goos-Hänchen shifts can be controlled by modifying the intensity and detuning of the coherent control field without changing material and the structure of the dielectric interface. This work has considerable potential for applications such as optical devices in information processing, flexible optical-beam steering and alignment, optical sensors and optical switches.
