Abstract

A scheme to realize the two-player quantum prisoner's dilemma with hot trapped ions is proposed.Based on the interaction between two ions and bichromatic radiation, the vibrational mode is only virtually excited so that the system is insensitive to the thermal field. In addition, since the basic logic gates of the quantum game can be constructed straightforward, the scheme is quite simple.

Cluster states prepared by using hot trapped ions

Rong‐Can Yang, Hongcai Li, Lin Xiu +1 more

We propose a scheme for the preparation of one-dimensional and two-dimensional cluster states by using hot trapped ions. The scheme is based on the interaction between two ions and bichromatic radiation. The vibrational mode in our protocol is only virtually excited so that the system is insensitive to the thermal field. In addition, we only use two levels of ions as qubits and the successful probability may achieve 100%.

Quantum Logic Gates for Hot Ions without a Speed Limitation

Shi-Biao Zheng

We propose a scheme for realizing two-qubit quantum phase gates with trapped ions in thermal motion. In the scheme, the ions are simultaneously illuminated by a standing-wave laser tuned to the carrier, which virtually excites several vibrational modes. The scheme puts no limitations on the intensity of the laser field, allowing the production of a quantum logic gate for hot ions with an arbitrarily high speed as long as a laser field of sufficiently high intensity is available.

One-Step Scheme for Realizing N -Qubit Quantum Phase Gates with Hot Trapped Ions

Shi-Biao Zheng, LU Dao-ming

A scheme is presented for realizing an N-qubit quantum phase gate with trapped ions. Taking advantage of the virtual excitation of the vibrational mode, the qubit system undergoes a full-cycle of Rabi oscillation in the selective symmetric Dicke subspace. The scheme only involves a single step and the operation is insensitive to thermal motion. Moreover, the scheme does not require individual addressing of the ions.

Multi-Mode Excited Logic Gates on Trapped Ions

Zeng Hao-Sheng, Chen Dao-Jia, Kuang Le-Man +1 more

Based on the scheme of ``hot'' trapped-ion quantum computation proposed by Sϕrensen and Mϕlmer, we construct a set of multi-mode excited logic gates on trapped ions, which may be operated on arbitrary even number of ions selected randomly from a string of ions trapped in a linear trap. The gate speed may be made faster than that of the corresponding one-mode excited logic gate by adjusting appropriately the detunings of driving lasers with respect to the sidebands of vibrational modes and can be demonstrated in current experimental techniques.

Scheme for Implementation of Quantum Game in Cavity QED

Cao Shuai, Mao-Fa Fang, Zheng Xiao-Juan +2 more

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme to implement two-player quantum game in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). During the process, the cavity is only virtually excited, thus our scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. The scheme can be realized in the range of current cavity QED techniques.

Quantum Two Player Game in Thermal Environment

Jerzy Dajka, Dawid Kłoda, Marcin Łobejko +1 more

A two-player quantum game is considered in the presence of thermal decoherence. It is shown how the thermal environment modeled in terms of rigorous Davies approach affects payoffs of the players. The conditions for either beneficial or pernicious effect of decoherence are identified. The general considerations are exemplified by the quantum version of Prisoner Dilemma.
