Abstract

The quantum teleportation of continuous variables with two mode squeezed vacuum states is reviewed. Its importance and advantages relative to the quantum teleportation of discrete variables are discussed.

TELEPORTATION OF ANY FORM OF SINGLE-MODE QUANTUM STATES

Song Tong-Qiang

By using the two-mode Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) pair eigenstates or the two-mode squeezed vacuum as quantum channel we study the quantum teleportation of any form of single-mode quantum states (which include discrete and continuous variable quantum states). The elegant properties of the EPR pair eigenstates bring much convenience to our discussion.

High Fidelity Quantum Teleportation

Hidehiro Yonezawa

Quantum teleportation is one of the most fundamental subjects in quantum information technology. This is because quantum teleportation can be used as not only a communication network but also a building block for universal quantum information processing. It is well known that there are two approaches (i. e. discrete and continuous variable approaches) in quantum information processing. In particular, continuous variable one has some advantages, that is, capability for deterministic and efficient quantum operations. In the case of continuous variable quantum teleportation, however, we cannot teleport quantum states perfectly due to finite level of quadrature squeezed states. Hence it is important to improve the fidelity of teleportation to realize more advanced quantum network and circuits. Thanks to the recent improvement of squeezing level, fidelity up to F=0.83 has been achieved. In this article, we review the experiment of high fidelity quantum teleportation for continuous variables, and its applications.

Quantum teleportation via mixed two-mode squeezed states in the coherent-state representation

Jinhyoung Lee, M. S. Kim, S. Lee

Quantum teleportation for continuous variables is generally described in phase space by using the Wigner functions. We study quantum teleportation via a mixed two-mode squeezed state in Hilbert-Schmidt space by using the coherent-state representation and operators. This shows directly how the teleported state is related to the original state. PACS numbers: 03.67.-a, 89.70.+c

Teleportation of Continuous Quantum Variables

Samuel L. Braunstein, Harry J. Kimble

Quantum teleportation is analyzed for states of dynamical variables with continuous spectra, in contrast to previous work with discrete (spin) variables. The entanglement fidelity of the scheme is computed, including the roles of finite quantum correlation and nonideal detection efficiency. A protocol is presented for teleporting the wave function of a single mode of the electromagnetic field with high fidelity using squeezed-state entanglement and current experimental capability.
